Eric stormed out of the bedroom and downstairs. "GENE! I HATE YOU!"

Gene rolled his eyes as Eric yelled and stomped around. "What did I do this time? Damn!"

"YOU EXIST!"

Gene calmly walked past Eric and sat down on the couch. Flipping the t.v. on, he waited for Eric's mood swing to pass. When his husband continued to rant and rave, Gene knew something else was wrong. "Baby? What's really wrong?"

"I want to know why you're coming home in the early mornings! Are you cheating on me?" "You moved out of the bedroom and you're never home! WHO IS SHE?!"

Gene couldn't tell Eric he was planning a surprise for him so he stayed quiet for awhile. Finally he answered, "I can't tell you."

"GET OUT! I HATE YOU!"

Gene felt the slap as it landed across his face. He turned to walk away. "I refuse to hit you back. I'm going to go work in the yard for awhile."

Eric threw a vase at the closing door. Gene could hear him crying after a few minutes.

In the  rose garden, Gene let out a sigh. "My lord!"

In the house, Eric finished crying before heading to the kitchen. He was now ravenously hungry.

A few hours later he was taking Gene out to dinner for an apology.
