Paul had found the cheapest hotel room he could in order to try and humble himself. He knew calling Gene and Eric would just result in being hung up on. Tommy was a possibility but he knew the result would be tears. Taking a deep breath, he called Bruce.
"I have NOTHING to say to you. Unless you actually let me see you on your knees pleading Tom's forgiveness, don't call me again. You were the most selfish, inconsiderate unfeeling bastard I've ever met." Bruce hung up on him.
Paul couldn't be mad because he knew he was wrong. After trying to get comfortable, he finally got up the nerve to call Tommy. Just as he went to dial, his phone rang. "Tom?" he asked.
The teary voice on the other end said a few words before dissolving into tears. Paul listened silently before saying, "If you want me to come home I will. It's your call and only yours. I do love you and I'm so so sorry."
"It's not Tom now. It's Pete." "If you come back and so much as hurt him once, I'll personally call the cops and have you removed."
"Pete? All I'm asking is for someone to be there until we can work this out." "I know you don't believe me when I say I love Tommy."
"No, I don't but I know Tom loves you." "I personally think you're worse than Jaime, but that's not my decision."
Paul hung up and tried Tommy again. He hoped Tommy would pick up. Leaving a voice mail, he hung up.
