It was almost six the same night when the doctor made one last visit. "Mr. Thayer, I have an update." "Your blood pressure and dizziness are caused by your pregnancy. There are two options. Number One, we can take the baby early or two, we can keep you here for the next three months and monitor you every day."

"Or option three is neither one. I want to go home." said Tommy. "I'm not taking the risk of having my daughter being delivered early just to keep passing out. I flat refuse to stay hooked up to a damned monitor for twelve more weeks." He crossed his arms and refused to budge. Paul looked up from rocking Hannah and shook his head. "Tom-"

"I SAID NEITHER ONE! NOW DO NOT INTERFERE!"

Paul bit his lip and went back to rocking Hannah. When she nodded off, he put her in the makeshift crib along with her sisters. After covering them up, he went to sit on the bed. "Babe, is something bothering you?"

"I was incoherent when Gene was here but I heard what you said. If Mady comes early you'll move out of our room and out of our lives. " "I can't raise four girls on my own." He burst into tears.

Paul face-palmed. "Baby, I will not leave any of you. I meant I would be willing to wear protection so we won't have a fifth child. I don't know if you can handle another one. Physically or mentally."

Tommy took that the wrong way and went to slap Paul. "I'm not crazy!"

Paul grabbed his hands and held them between his. "I know that. I see what your health is like while you're pregnant. That's all I meant."

Tommy turned to his side and shoved Paul away. " Just go screw Gene or Eric. I know you all three did in Europe. Just leave me alone!"

Paul sighed and moved to the fold-out bed. He knew when Tommy pushed him away, it was best to just leave him alone until the mood swing was passed.
