Knowing Tommy felt awful, Paul started making plans to surprise him. By talking to the others, Paul managed to put together a surprise date. He convinced Tommy to meet him at the fountain downtown and took it from there. Leading his husband to a small restaurant, he pulled out a box and put it in Tommy's hand. "What?"
"Open it sweetheart."
Tommy undid the lid and found a solid gold watch with garnets imbedded. "I want you to wear it when you're in Scotland. I also bought you tickets to the bed and breakfast that overlooks the biggest golf course there."
"A-a-are we going as a family? A-a-are you divorcing me?"
"No, sweetheart. I thought you'd enjoy some time to play golf. Do you not want to be alone?"
"N-n-no. I love all of you. I want us to be together."
Paul pulled out a ticket for himself and placed it on top of Tommy's. "I already updated our passports just in case. When do you want to go?"
"When this stupid cast comes off. Maybe my birthday, or Christmas?"
"Alright, whenever you decide. I love you Thomas Cunningham Thayer-Stanley and I always will." Paul kissed him deeply before they placed their orders.
Paul had already known to buy the extra tickets.
