Doctor Visit

Tommy was taking a shower in preparation for his doctor's appointment. He had reluctantly agreed to go to Paul's doctor. Paul was patiently waiting on him to finish. In the course of the last month or so, Paul had cut Tommy's hair to right below his armpits. 

"I'm ready I guess. " called Tommy finally. He was wearing a loose t-shirt and jeans. He had lost about 20 pounds or so. 

"My doctor's nice if that's what you're worried about." said Paul quietly. "Please don't think all doctor's are evil."

At the doctor's office, Tommy was suddenly filled with fear. He knew that he would have to submit to a physical exam. "Paul, I can't. What if they ask about the scars?" 

"Tom, it's going to be alright. Okay, love?" "My doctor doesn't judge." "I can go back with you if you want."

"No, I can do this." whispered Tommy.

When the doctor called Tommy back, he followed her, head down. Paul knew he should be there. "Tom, I'm coming with you."

Tommy felt embarrassed and relieved at the same time. He took Paul's hand as they walked into the office. "Mr. Thayer, the first visit won't be a hands on. I would just like to ask you some questions if that's okay." He looked at Paul for reassurance. 

"That's okay." 

The doctor took her time, changing the question if Tommy was reluctant. He refused to answer some at all. He looked at Paul several times. "I, um, really need to use the bathroom." he whispered. Getting up, he ran down the hall. Paul followed him. "Tommy , are you okay?"

"Paul, could we go home?" "Please?"

Paul entered the small bathroom to find Tommy shaking. "Baby?"

"Paul, I can't do this any more. I don't want to answer."

"Baby, what's really going on?" asked Paul gently. "Are you pregnant?"

"N-n-no. I d-d-don't think so." "S-S-Should I be? " "Did we.....oh no! Paul how could you?!"

Paul face palmed as he realized he had just admitted to his husband he had messed up.

Tommy finished the appointment before running off in tears. He called a cab to go home.

Paul drove home in silence.
