Birthday Get Together

Finally September 15th arrived. Paul had already been to the store for the cakes, ice cream and last minute party fill ins and food. Gene had gone with him so they could talk. Gene as telling Paul that Eric and him weren't on the best of terms lately. "Eric resents having another set of twins so quick. I realize we're both to blame but wow! He's super moody this time around. Yes, he'll be at the party."

"Tommy seems to get sadder by the day. I thought the therapy would help but it seems to have had the reverse effect."

Gene then asked the question Paul hadn't thought of. "Do you think something happened while he was there?" "Did Tom ever tell you?"

"No. He just came home sad. I don't even know if he's taking his meds still."

Once they arrived at Gene's, Eric was waiting. "Why were you with Paul? I need you here."

"Bye Geneie!" laughed Paul as he headed home. 

Tommy was awake by now, sipping coffee. "I'm sorry! I spilled some! I'll clean it up! Please don't hit me!" he cried seeing Paul walk in.

Paul had to grab Tommy to keep him from bolting out of his chair and hiding in a corner. "I'll clean up the spill, sweetheart. Enjoy your coffee." he said gently.

Tommy's eyes grew wide as he was given a gentle massage to calm him down. "Sh. Let's eat some breakfast." said Paul. "I'll make waffles." "Come over and help me." 

Luckily breakfast went fine. 

Later in the afternoon, Paul had Tommy set up all the food so he could stay focused on something. "I'm saving the chocolate covered strawberries for you later." 

Tommy gave him a half-hearted smile as he finished laying out the plates and silverware.

Paul let everyone help themselves to the buffet after giving the girls their plates. He kept an eye on Tommy who seemed to be holding up so far. Eric apparently had made up with Gene and was now feeding him cake.

Tommy was eating chocolate ice cream and staring at the table. He absent mindedly bounced Mady in his lap. Aurora was happily playing with a new stuffed animal while Taylor and Hannah were toddling around. Draco was eating Gene's ice cream and Delilah had a piece of cake.

Paul tried feeding Tommy some cake but was rejected. He managed to get him to eat two strawberries.
