The Storm(Both Inside and Out)

Once Tommy was carried inside, he locked himself in the guest room and tried to go to sleep. His mind was reeling with thoughts of maybe being pregnant yet again. He heard the keys in the door and quickly moved to try and keep Paul out.

"Thomas, please don't do this again." called Paul from the hallway. He opened the door and walked in. "I said I'm sorry. I know you don't want another child." "Please listen to me for just a few minutes." "Then you're free to put me out."

Tommy sat down and stared at the floor. He wanted to hear nothing from Paul but he listened anyway. After a few minutes, he got up and walked to the bathroom. Grabbing a straight edge razor, he walked back to face Paul. "Do you see this? For every drop of self doubt I feel, I'm going to bleed it out. My one request is that you watch me make every single cut and do nothing to stop me."

Paul did the one thing he'd never dreamed of. He grabbed Tommy's wrist, pried his hand open and grabbed the razor. It cut his palm but he got it away from Tommy. "You are not going to use it." 

Tommy lunged forward to grab the razor but Paul side stepped him which caused Tommy to fall. He landed hard on his arm causing the bone to break. Tommy laid there in silence until Paul picked him up and carried him to the car. Neither one spoke. 

At the hospital Paul stayed with his husband until the cast was put on. Afterwards, Tommy dissolved into tears, apologizing profusely for the accident. "I love you baby. I'm so sorry. I just feel so mixed up right now."

"I know sweetheart. Let's go home and talk things over."

Paul took Tommy's hand and led him to the car. He stroked Tommy's cheek as he drove home, listening to the sound of silent tears. "Baby? Do you want to be left alone for awhile? I can use the guest room."

Tommy shook his head and turned to face Paul. "I-i-if I'm p-p-pregnant again, will you still love me?"

"Yes."

Tommy wiped his face and tried to quit crying.
