Chapter 100 Sunday Surprise
Sunday morning Rory and Logan were still in bed when Rory heard giggling and little feet headed toward their room. She nudged Logan, "Here they come," she said as the door opened. She could not see them. Will and Chris were crawling on the floor. "I see them" Logan whispered. "Sssshhh, I think they are trying to scare us."
The four of them headed down to breakfast, All smiles. Logan wanted to enjoy this morning. This afternoon will be hell. He didn't want to think about that right now. It was warm for April. Logan and Rory were sitting on the patio reading the various newspapers they subscribe to and the boys were playing in the backyard. Logan nudged Rory's foot to get her attention. You could see Karson standing at the kitchen bar in Ricky's shirt. Rory gasped, Logan laughed. "I'll talk to Ricky, make sure they are being careful and he is being respectful." Rory nodded. "I'll need to talk with Karson too, I guess," When Karson realized Rory and Logan could see her through the window she ran to the bedroom.
Logan served them lunch on the patio. They were all having a good Sunday. The doorbell rang. Logan answered the door to let Christopher and Lana in. "Come in" Logan said as he shook Christopher's hand, leading them to the patio. "Grampa" the boys yelled. "Dad, Lana, Good to see you. Have a seat." "We just wanted to stop by and thank you for the help last night." Christopher said, "We enjoyed ourselves," Rory told him. "Grampa, we want to go to a party. Momma and Daddy wouldn't let us." Will said. Logan and Rory both glanced at each other. That was the first time one of them called in Daddy. Chris said. "Yeah, we want to have a party with you and Ms. Lana." Christopher laughed. "When Ms. Lana and I get back from our honeymoon, we will throw a party and make sure you boys are invited. Maybe we won't invite Mom and Logan." The boys were laughing. "Yeah, but I want mommy and daddy to come. Karson and Ricky and Aunt Gigi." Chris said. "Balloons and can we have a clown? And cake?" Will asked. "No, clown," both Rory and Logan said. Everyone laughed.
When the boys took off for the backyard, Rory asked. "Gigi?" "She is having lunch with Sherry," Christopher said. Rory didn't know what to say. "Is George with her?" Logan asked. Christopher said. "Sherry said he wasn't, I told her that if I found out that he was anywhere near Gigi, she would not like the actions taken. Sherry has never paid child support. I have never pushed it. I can provide for Gigi. According to the law, Sherry owes me all the child support she was supposed to pay. If she insists that George be a part of Gigi's life, I will file the papers" Lana reached and grabbed his hand. "Chris," She said. "Gigi can handle herself."
Karson and Ricky excused themselves to go watch a movie. "Well, looks Like I get to be called daddy sooner than I expected." he looked at Rory, "If it is okay with you?" "Yes, Yes," Rory laughed and hugged Logan. "Talk to Ricky, make sure this is not a problem for him, if it is we will figure out how to deal with it," Rory whispered. When Rory and Logan broke apart, Christopher said. "I guess this is new?" "Yes, we have never asked them to call him Dad. I know that when Em is born, this would probably happen." Rory said. "Well, looks like we have that name cleared up, let's work on a name for you," Rory said, looking at Lana. Lana shrugged. "Ms. Lana is fine," Lana said. Logan caught on to what Rory was doing. "No, how about Gramma, that goes well with Grampa. Em will only know you as one of her grandmothers. Shira will not be in her life, so you can be Gramma" Logan said. "Sounds good to me Lana," Christopher said. Lana's face paled. Rory was trying not to let anyone smile.
Lana and Christopher stuck around for a couple of hours. Logan excused himself to go change. He was supposed to meet Honor, Josh, and Mitchum at the Huntzburger Manar to once more go over what they would be telling Shira. When he returned downstairs, Rory was carrying the plates from the patio to the kitchen. Logan stopped her and took the plates. "Let Karson do that." He kissed her. "I need to head out. I need you to rest. I just texted Karson. She will be here in a minute. I want you to watch a movie, read a book. Just relax." Logan took a deep breath. "Hey, I will do what you want. You go take care of......this problem. When you get home, I will help you relax and forget all about today." Logan gave her another kiss and headed for the door. "Oh, I forgot to tell you Evelyn is starting Monday. I asked Ms. Lewis to come in. I think we all need to sit down and talk. I want both ladies to be comfortable. Until Ms. Lewis decides she wants to fully retire, I want her to feel welcome and needed. I want Evelyn to also feel welcome and needed. Evelyn will also help us find a nanny." Logan told Rory. "I'm trying to take over, I don't want you to worry about all this. I make the arrangements, but you have the final say." Rory smiled. "Thank you."
Cynthia opened the door for Logan. "Come in. Do you not have a key?" Cynthia asked. "Yeah, but I have been knocking on this door since after I left for boarding school," Logan said. "Logan, first of all, this house belongs to you and Honor. You should not have to knock to enter your own house. Second, no child should have to knock or ring the bell in their parents' house. I know that is a little different than what society teaches, But this is how I was raised and how I am raising Jessi. I want your children to feel welcome in this house. I know you noticed Friday night, the downstairs does not have a lot of breakable expense items, other than the living room, which is where we entertain guests. Logan, your family is not a guest." Cynthia said. Logan smiled, "well, in that case, we have to come up with a name for the boys, Honors included and sweet Em to call you. Dad is Pops. Think about it and let me know." Logan said and he headed to the study where his dad, Honor, and Josh were waiting on him. "Oh, by the way, the boys started calling me daddy. All on their own." Logan said, smiling as he walked away.
