Chapter 85 PB & J

When they returned home Friday night, Logan and Rory met with Ricky and Karson. Logan explained what was going on with Shira as well as Melissa. "I just want the two of you to be safe. I want both of you to be always aware of the surrounding activities. If you take the boys somewhere, you need to always have your eyes on them. You are my family. I will take care of my family. I will kill anyone who hurts my family." Rory took Logan's hand. "Babe, we will be okay. I don't want you to go to jail." Rory said. "Oh, you thought I would do it myself?" Rory shook her head, "No, you would hire someone." They all laughed, breaking the serious tension that was enveloping the room.

Sunday morning Rory woke feeling sluggish. Logan told her to take it easy today. He plans to stay home all day. "It's warming up a bit, maybe me and the boys will go outside and play on the playground," Logan said. "That sounds like a plan. I'll come and we can have a picnic in the backyard." Rory said with a smile. Logan was a little worried, but at almost 25 weeks, Rory seems to be doing well. He was concerned about her blood pressure. He just needed to keep an eye on her. Rory tells Logan that she was going to stay in bed for a little while longer. "I'll be up in time to fix us a picnic lunch." "We will take care of preparing the lunch. I know I saw a picnic basket somewhere." Logan said. "It's on the top shelf of the butler's pantry, there are two. Use the smaller one." Rory told Logan. He kissed her and headed downstairs for twin duty.

Logan and the boys were building a city with the Legos when Rory came downstairs. "How are my men doing today?" Before Logan could respond, Will said. "We not men, me and Chris is boys" Logan laughed. "Me too Ace." She took a seat on the sofa. It wasn't long before Logan joined her. "Heard from our adult children today?" Rory asked. "Yeah, they are meeting some friends at the mall. I heard Karson say something about needing spring clothes." "Who is she meeting? Is Ricky with her?" Rory asked, she was worried. "Ace, they will be fine. They have been made aware of the situation. They are not flying blind." "I know."

"I thought you were going to stay in bed and sleep or at least read." "I was, but Dad called. He and Lana want to stop by sometime after lunch." "I don't have a problem with that, but you look like you may," Logan said, looking at Rory. Rory looked at the boys, then back to Logan. "I think he is coming over to tell us that he finally asked Lana to marry him." "Ace, is this not good news?" "Yes, it is wonderful news.... I" she stopped and took a deep breath. "Ace, talk to me. I can't help if you don't tell me what is wrong." "Logan, nothing is wrong" Logan arched his eyebrows. "Lana is still pretty young. She is in her early 40's. The age difference between Lana and me does not bother me. What worries me....is she is still young. Dad is a grandfather of two almost 3. The age gap between me and Gigi is 19 years. Our relationship has not come easy. Dad and only reconnected after the campaign trail. Gigi didn't even know who I was. I think we have a good relationship now. But I feel like her mother instead of her big sister. I don't know, it is hard to explain. I just don't know I will handle it if Lana and Dad decide to have a child. As far as I know, Lana does not have any children." "Ace, I'm sorry that this is worrying you, but let's wait and see what your dad has to tell us. Then we can cross that bridge." "Yeah, that's good. Keep saying it out loud until I believe it." Logan laughed.

After playing in the backyard on the playground equipment and having a picnic. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and juice. Yes, the twins helped pack the lunch. They returned to the house. "Boys, clean up the Legos. Take them upstairs to the playroom, then you may have some screen time." The boys hurried to the Legos, putting them in the Lego carrier. After a few minutes, Will said "Logan, are you going to help?" Chris said "Yeah, you one of the boys' ' Rory laughed. "Sure, I'll help. I sure hope I can put them in the bucket. I would hate to make a bigger miss." "No, we can do it, '' Will said looking at Chris. Chris nodded his head. "Ace looks like the guys know it is getting close to their birthday. Is that why they are being extra good?" "My boys are always good," Rory said and winked at the boys.

The boys were upstairs in their room with screen time, while Rory and Logan were laying on the couch watching a movie. Logan was watching a movie, Rory was asleep. Logan thought he heard Ricky and Karson pull up. He eased himself off the couch, not to wake Rory up. He saw them through the French doors. He walked outside, "Hey guys, Karson, did you buy the store out?" "No, just taking advantage of the sales. Rory said I would be coming with her on a few of her book tours. She wants me to be her assistant." "That sounds nice, '' Logan said. "Well, I need some fall clothes that will look professional looking and I need some summer clothes period." "You do not have to justify your purchase to me. I am simply happy that you are a part of this family. You to Ricky. Did you have any trouble? See anyone that might be watching you?" Logan asked. Both shook their heads ''No, did see anything. I sat in the mall while Karson and Amanda were in the stores. I was watching. I would walk through the store with them, then go sit in the mall watching." Ricky said. "Thanks," Logan said.

Logan turned to go back into the house when he remembered. Christopher and Lana are coming over in a little while. They have something to tell us. You may want to step over to the main house when they get here." Both nodded their heads as they entered the pool house.
