Chapter 122 Wedding Ready
Saturday morning, Rory woke to a commotion downstairs. She went downstairs to see what was going on. It seems Gigi was moving in. Must have slipped her mind. She sat down on the bottom step of the stairs as she watched Ricky, Logan, Karson, and Gigi unload Gigi's car. Gigi is going to sleep in the apartment with Karson. Will and Chris were trying to help.
Logan sat down next to her when he noticed her. "Do you sometimes think we are running a boarding house?" She asked. Logan laughed. "You wouldn't have it any other way" He smiled. "Yeah, you're right." "Just think of the lessons you are teaching the twins, not to mention the young adults. What you are doing for them will be carried on as they go forth in life." Logan said. Rory smiled and laid her head on his shoulder. "I guess I need to go get dressed. We have a wedding to attend." Rory got up to head back upstairs. "Hey, Ace, have you eaten anything?" She shook her head. "Not hungry," she said as she headed back upstairs. This concerned Logan.
He went to the kitchen and got her a juice box and a pop tart. Maybe she will eat this. He thought. When she stepped out of the shower, she saw the pop tart and juice box on the counter. She smiled. She ate the pop tart and drank the juice. By the time she made it back downstairs, no one was there. She went to the office to find Logan. He was on the phone. She stood at the door waiting for him to get off the phone.
"Hey, beautiful." He said and he leaned back in his chair. "Are you starting a new fashion trend? Your hair and make-up are perfectly done, so I'm guessing the sweats and my tee-shirt is just comfortable?" She laughed. "I have to get the boys ready after we eat. I just wanted to go ahead and get everything done that I could, so I can help get them ready.....Has Dad been by this morning?" "Logan shook his head. He hadn't told her about the call he had last night with Christopher. "No, but I talked to him last night after we got home. You were upstairs changing and your phone was ringing." Rory nodded her head but didn't say anything.
Logan debated on whether to get a driver or to go on two vehicles. He decides that after last night, it would be better to go in two vehicles. He, Rory, and the boys will go in Rory's car, Ricky and Karson in Ricky's car. Karson and Ricky were helping the boys get buckled up. Rory would not let them wear their tuxes. She and Karson would get them dressed when they got to the church. Dressing the twins before they got to the church could be a disaster.
Logan handed the keys to the velvet and proceeded to help Will out of the car seat, while Rory was helping Chris. Karson was right behind them in Ricky's car. She got out to help. She grabbed the suit bags and followed Rory. Rory knocked on one of the dressing rooms before entering. Christopher was in the next room with his groomsmen. He heard the boys. He stepped out just as Rory was closing the door. He knocked before she had the door closed. "Hey, can I come in?" Christopher asked. Rory opened the door to let him in.
They had about twenty minutes before the ceremony started. Karson started getting the boys dressed. "Hey, guys. Are you ready to help Grampa get married?" they were both excited but had been warned to behave. "Rory, can I talk to you for just a minute?" Christopher asked. Rory looked around to see how far Karson had gotten. "Dad, I only have a minute. I need to make sure they get dressed in time." Rory said. Christopher nodded. "They can't start the ceremony without me." Rory nodded and followed him out the door. "About last night." Christopher started. "Dad, let's just get you married. We can talk about last night some other time." Rory said. "Rory, Hey, I'm sorry. I let Lana and her family plan all of this. I just told her to tell me when to show up. I now know that was a mistake." Christopher said. Rory just looked at him waiting for what else he had to say. "I'm still not sure why the boys did not have a nameplate, but I assure you they will have a nameplate tonight at the reception." Rory nodded. "Okay Dad, I need to make sure these guys are ready and know what to do." She leaned in to kiss him on the cheek.
After talking with the boys, and reminding them of what they are supposed to do, she left them with Christopher and the wedding planner. She felt like all eyes were on her as she was escorted to her seat. Logan stood up when she approached and took her from the usher. Rory felt like she had been sitting in that chair for an hour when her dad and best man entered through the side door. In reality, it had only been ten minutes.
She smiled at Christopher. Logan was holding her hand. The music started and the girl-boy pairs started walking down the aisle. Rory was anxiously awaiting her boys in their tuxes. Logan squeezed her hand and whispered "Here they come" Both boys were smiling from eye to eye. They both were looking forward to it. Rory and Logan could hear the ews and ahs as they walked by. Both boys walked right up to Christopher, turned around, and stood in front of him. Both smiling, looking around. When Will spotted Rory and Logan he winked at them. "When did he learn to do that?" Rory asked. "We have been practicing," Logan said.
