Chapter 65 Confronting Shira

Logan and Crew parked the car in the visitor's parking lot and walked to the entrance. Honor and Dillon went straight to Taylor's office, while Logan and Mitchum went to Shira's room.

Honor Knocked on the door but did not wait till she answered to enter. Dillon is right behind her. What she saw shocked her. Shira was sitting in the chair in front of Taylor's desk as well as a doctor or at least Honor thought he looked like a doctor.

"Mother," Honor said. "It's nice to see you up and about. Taylor informed me that the doctor had you on bed rest and no visitors." Shira was looking at Honor like she wasn't sure who she was. Shira looked at Honor, then at Taylor. "What's your name?" Shira asked Honor. "Give it up mother, we are on to your little scam." "Honor" Taylor said. "She is fragile." "Honor," Shira said. "I have a daughter named Honor, but she is just 12 years old. She had a brother named Logan." Shira said with a smile as she turned to face Honor. Before Honor could say anything, Logan and Mitchum walked up. They had discovered that Shira was not in her room.

"Shira, what lies are you telling now?" Mitchum said. Shira's head whipped around to face Mitchum. You could tell she was trying to stay composed. "Yes, Mother. You always tell the best bedtime stories." Logan said. "Oh, Logan, you know that was not your mother, that was our nanny. Mother was not home at bedtime to tell us stories" Honor said. "Oh, I remember now. It's a shame, I so enjoy telling Will and Chris bedtime stories and I can't wait to tell my little boy or girl." Logan said. "Just so you know Mother, you will not be telling my children bedtime stories. I'm not even sure you will be introduced."

Shira just stood there. Looking. She was not sure if she should continue to carry on the act or come clean, so she just stared. Before anyone else could say anything, a ward clerk brought several of Shira's boxes to the door. "Mr. Huntzburger, this is all Ms. Huntzburger's belongings." "Thank you" Logan said as he pulled a few bills out of his pocket and headed to the ward clerk. "You have been a lot of help."

Shira figured now was as good of a time as any. She stood up. "Well, this is par for the course. My family, everyone. Only a few are missing. My daughter-in-law and son-in-law. Oh, don't forget the bastard child of Mitchum's." Logan stepped in front of Mitchum. "Dad, you do not need an assault charge. You don't look good in orange." Honor agreed. "Yeah dad, at least leave us one parent that is not entirely insane."

Before Shira could move to leave, two federal officers walked up to the door. "I am looking for Ms. Taylor McDonald, Doctor Herbert Jewel, and Doctor Jonathon Johnson. I have a warrant to search the premises." Thomas the FBI agent said as he handed her the search warrant. Dillon turned to Thomas. "This is Logan and Mitchum Huntzburger and Honor, their sister and daughter." Logan and Mitchum both shook his hand. "Nice to finally meet you, Logan. I have talked to you so many times on the phone. I will need a statement from all of you." Thomas said as he handed Logan and Mitchum a card. "It has my cell phone number as well as my email. If you could just write up a statement and email it to me before you leave the state. I will be in contact with you." Thomas said as Logan and the crew headed outdoors with Shira's belongings.

Shira stepped out of the office. "Wait, Logan, you said children a few minutes ago. Is Rory pregnant?" "Shira, that is not any of your concern. As far as myself and my family are concerned, you do not exist." Logan said and turned away walking to the car. Mitchum was behind her. Honor stood there looking at Shira. "How could you do this to us? Logan and I both have been very generous." Honor said, shaking her head as she followed Logan and her dad to the car.

On the drive back to the hotel, the only sound was Logan and Mitchum both on the phone. Logan was calling his lawyers to have official eviction papers served to Shira. Honor was listening. She understood why Logan was doing it. She was so angry with Shira, but she also felt sorry for her. Shira was out of a place to leave as well as any money. Logan hung up the phone. It was as if he could read Honor's mind. "Honor, I will be true to my word. I will purchase an apartment in Hartford for Shira to live in. I will pay the utilities and the HMO fees. She will be given an allowance at the beginning of each month." Logan had a look on his face that Honor had never seen before. It was a mixture of hate and obligation. Logan continued. "The apartment will be in a nice part of town, but it will be a two-bedroom 1 bath apartment. And the allowance will be $100 a week. That should buy her groceries. Anything else she needs she will have to ask for, do without, or get a job."

Nothing else was said on the drive home. When they got to the penthouse suite, Logan went straight to his room and shut the door. Honor and Mitchum stood in the living room, not sure what to do. "Honor, let's get something to eat. We can bring Logan something back if he wants." Honor nodded. She walked to the door; she could hear Logan talking. She was sure he was talking to Rory. "Logan, we are going to get something to eat. Do you want us to bring you something back?" "No thank you, Honor. I will get me something" she heard him say through the door.
