Chapter 105-Doctors Appointment-Lunch with Rogan? Part II

When we left part I of this Chapter, Logan was about to open his office door. The same door he remembers leaving open. This office also is where his wife is sleeping. Did I mention Shira was in the area? Oh, yeah Mitchum and Cynthia are on their way up. Just a little recap.

Logan had his hand on the doorknob to open the door when he heard Shira. She was in the room with Rory. John and Dillon heard the same thing. Logan opens the door and starts yelling. "You have signed a contract preventing you from being anywhere near my family. What are you doing here? I will call right now. Have the FBI up here." Logan turned to John, "Call Agent Stone, Now." John backed out of the office but did not go to his desk. Agent Stone is working on Billy's case. John knew Logan well enough. He was supposed to make Shira believe he was calling.

"Logan," Shira said, quite loudly. "I signed the contract. I am leaving town. I will not bother you again. I just wanted to tell you something before I leave." John looked up as Mitchum got off the elevator. He believed if you look close enough you could see steam coming out of his ears. "LOGAN" Mitchum yelled from across the room. John just pointed into Logan's office. John stepped out of the way for Mitchum to enter the room. "What is the meaning of this?" Mitchum said as he entered the office. "I was told you signed a contract. No contact." He said looking at Shira. Shira begins to speak but was cut off when Mitchum saw Rory on the couch. "Rory, are you okay?" He directed his question to her. She smiled and nodded. She was okay, she was just worried about Logan.

When Cynthia heard Mitchum say Rory's name, she came from behind Mitchum to check on Rory. "Hey. You okay?" Cynthia asked quietly. "Yeah, I'm fine." "No headache, no cramps?" Rory shook her head. "Okay, would you let me take you to first aid and check your blood pressure? Cynthia asked. "You haven't been out of the hospital very long." "I will let you check me later. I'm not leaving Logan. He nor Mitchum look good in orange and I don't want Em to meet her dad or Pops through the glass." Cynthia had a hold out her hand. "Okay, I understand. Is it okay if I sit here with you?" Rory nodded. This conversation took place quietly. Mitchum and Logan were listening. Shira was yelling something but neither of them paid any attention.

"Shira," Dillon said as he stepped into the room. "Stop yelling, and tell us why you are here. You admitted earlier to signing the contract. I say in plain language you are not to have any contact with anyone listed on the contract." Dillon said. Taking control of the situation. "I want to talk with my son, and then I will be gone," Shira said, smiling sweetly at Logan. "Okay, I'm waiting," Logan said. "I want to talk with you. Not all these other people." Shira said. Logan looked around the room. He saw Rory closing her phone. He saw Dillon, who had stepped in to take control. He saw Mitchum then Cynthia sitting next to Rory. "Cynthia, does she need to go get checked right this minute or can it wait until we start to lunch. She just left the doctor's office earlier" Logan asked. Cynthia looked at Rory. place her hand on Rory's chest close to the heart while taking her pulse with the other. "Logan, she seems fine. It can wait." "Shira, please go have a seat at the table", Logan said motioning toward the conference table in his office. He walked to the door and told John "keep security out of sight, but have them on this floor." Logan told him and closed the door to his office. He then turned to his dad. "Rory and I are going to eat Mexican food when we leave here. Em has been craving the spicey lately" Logan said smiling at Rory. "We would like for you to join us." Mitchum looked at Cynthia, she nodded. "Sounds good," Mitchum said. "Good. Dad, I have the numbers for the Nebraska acquisition laying on my desk, if you don't mind will you look over them for me. I may need you or John to go out there in my place. I will not be traveling until after the baby is born." Mitchum smiled at Cynthia. "I will look over the numbers while you finish with Shira." "Perfect. Dillon, will you join me at the conference table?" Logan asked as he went to his desk and picked up the contact Shira had signed.

Cynthia and Rory continued to talk while Mitchum sat down at Logan's desk. All three were prepared to listen in on the conversion taking place at the table. Logan and Dillon took a seat across from Shira. When Dillon sat down, he pulled his phone out of his pocket and laid it on the table with the record app showing. He pressed the button. "I will be recording this," Dillon said. "No, hell you will not," Shira said. "This is between me and my son" "Shira!" Logan said with a tone that would stop a train. "I. Am. Not. Your. Son. you need to get that in your head. Right now, I am the person that holds the purse strings. I am set to transfer everything over to you as soon as you board the plane. Other than that, you are dead to me. You have 5 minutes starting now". Logan said, looking at his watch. "Say what you need to say, then leave."

Rory and Cynthia's eyes were wide. "I have seen him mad before. I have seen him hurt emotionally before. But I don't think I have ever heard that tone in his voice." Rory whispered. Cynthia nodded. "I have, but it was Mitchum, not Logan."

Shira and Logan were holding a staring contest. Neither one said a word. Logan finally looked at his watch and looked back up at Shira. She cleared her throat. "Logan. I have disappointed you as of late. I know you have never considered me a good mother." Logon continued to look at her. His facial expression is not changing. This he had learned at an early age. "But you know that you have disappointed me also. I didn't cut you out of my life when you disappointed me. I"...." No, Shira, you shipped me to boarding school so you would not have to deal with me. That is what I am doing to you. The only difference is when you board the plane, I will not be hearing from you again. Make sure someone knows to contact my security team when you pass." Logan said, looking at his watch. "Times ups." Logan stood up. He did not look back. Dillon pulled an e-ticket out of his jacket pocket. "I was going to stop by your house after lunch and give you this." He sleds it across the table. "You also have a room booked at the Martin in Malibu. The address and the papers you need to check-in are in the envelope. The reservation is for a month. As soon as you check-in, I will be notified. Your money will be transferred. All but the money for the house. You have an appointment with a real estate agent Friday morning. It's all in the envelope. If you can not make the appointment, be sure to call her." Dillon got up and walked to Logan's desk. Logan was getting up. Mitchum was standing by Logan's desk. "The ladies get wise and abandon you gentleman?" Dillon asked. "No," Logan chucked. "They are in the ladies' room down the hall. We are headed to lunch, would you like to go?" Logan asked. "No, I'm going to stick around and escort Shira out of the building. I am going to give her some time, then volunteer to take her to the airport. I want to see her get on the plane. I will also volunteer to answer any questions. This will be the last time you have to deal with her." Logan nodded. Mitchum was standing by the door. "Logan, Cynthia, and Rory are headed this way. Are you ready?" Logan walked toward the door. Turned around and took one last look at Shira sitting at the table. He could see tears in her eyes. "Bye, Mom," Logan said quietly. And walked out the door.
