Bear with me. I always like reading the stories where Lorelai had mixed feelings about Rory becoming a Hartford Wife. Hopefully, they will work it out. I have ideas, then start writing. Sometimes my thought process takes me in a different direction. Thanks for the reviews. They really help.

Chapter 58 Emily Much

Back at the Dragonfly. Michel was fussing as only Michel could. "Lorelai, why do I have to work today. I had plans. Just because the pipes burst doesn't mean you can't work the front desk." "Michel, look at me. I am soaking wet. I have been crawling under the Inn helping Luke find the leak and the cut-off value. I am going home to get a shower. Luke had turned off the water. You will need to notify all our guests. Please explain to them what happened and that it will be back on as soon as Luke can get the pipe fixed." Lorelai said as stomped out the door, slamming it."

After Lorelai got her shower, she decided to visit Rory. Last night was weighing on her pretty well. Karson helping out with the twins was like having a big sister to help, not a nanny. This is not like Rory. This is not the way I raised her. I knew if she hooked up with Logan she would change. The money Billy left her does not help matters. She should put all that money up for the boys. Next thing you know she will be attending DAR meetings and hosting parties. This is what was going through Lorelai's head as she was driving to Hartford. I hope Logan is not there. I don't need permission from him to talk with my daughter. Who does he think he is? Logan Huntzburger is the man in charge. He always has to be in control. At least when she was married to Billy, he didn't try to control her. The more she thought, the madder she got. Before she knew it, she was pulling up at the gate at Rory's house.

Lorelai parked behind Christopher's car. She didn't notice it in the driveway. She walked up to the door and took a deep breath. Calm down Lorelai. You have to approach this slowly. Do not put her on defense to start with. After several calming breaths, she rang the doorbell and opened the door. "Rory?" "In the living room mom." Lorelai rounded the corner to see Rory, Gigi, and Karson watching a movie. Rory paused the movie. "Hey mom, you haven't missed much. Sit down." Lorelai stood there before deciding what to do. Maybe if she watched a movie with them, she could come up with a plan. Lorelai sat down and watched the movie with them. She noticed they had popcorn, but they did not have the usual spread that is required for a Gilmore movie. "Gigi, you must be in your dad's car," Lorelai said, remembering seeing his car in the driveway. Rory looked over at Lorelai. "Dad and Logan took the boys to the amusement park." Lorelai just nodded her head. After a few minutes, Lorelai had stayed still long enough. "Hey, where is all the candy? You know you are supposed to have a big spread of candy or it won't be a Gilmore movie." Rory again looked over at Lorelai. "We have popcorn," Rory said, passing the bowl to her. "I want candy. Where is your stash?" Lorelai said getting up and heading to the kitchen. Rory paused the movie, getting a groan out of Gigi and Karson. "Mom, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I am not eating any sweets today. I want to have a clean visit." Lorelai stopped and looked back at Rory, "Well that does not mean we can't have some." Lorelai finished the sentence as she was entering the kitchen. The next thing Rory heard was the cabinet doors slamming. Rory sighed as she was getting up. Rory knows her mom better than anyone. Lorelai was raring for a fight. Karson said, "let me go show her where the candy is." Rory said, "No let me. She is raring for a fight. Might as well get it over with.

While Rory was headed to the kitchen to confront her mom, Gigi called her dad. "Gigi everything alright. Want us to bring ice cream home. We are on our way to get the boys' ice cream cones. We can bring some home if you would like." "Dad, skip the ice cream. Aunt Lorelai is here. Rory went to the kitchen to talk to her. She seems mad. Dad, Rory's yelling." "Logan, we need to get home. Lorelai is there and she and Rory are in the kitchen. Gigi says they are yelling." "Tell Gigi to go in the kitchen, leave the phone on so we can hear. We will be home in 5 minutes." Logan said.

Gigi and Karson headed to the kitchen. Gigi slipped her phone into her pocket. "Aunt Lorelai, did you find the candy," Gigi said before she entered the kitchen. When they got in the kitchen Lorelai was standing by the stove and Rory was sitting on the breakfast nook bench. "No, Gigi, I didn't" Karson looked at Lorelai, then at Rory. "Everything okay?" she asked. Lorelai answered, "No, I would like to talk with my daughter if you don't mind." Karson looked at Rory who nodded her head. "She does not need your permission," Lorelai said. "What is your problem? Go ahead tell me what you think. Lord knows Lorelai has an opinion and everyone has to hear it. Go ahead, mom. Tell me"

"Rory, it's not like that. You have Karson to help you out. You don't need a nanny to raise your children." "Karson is a nanny," Rory said. "No, I am talking about a real nanny." Karson walked over to where Rory was sitting and sat down. She decided she wasn't going anywhere. Gigi stood at the door. She wasn't sure what she should do. "What I am trying to say is you and Logan should raise your children, not some nanny." "We will be raising our children. I am working from home. I will be here. The nanny will be here to help me." Rory said. "Next you will tell me you hired a maid too." Rory looked up at Lorelai. "You did, you hired a maid." "Mom, Ms. Lewis is retiring. We decided to hire a maid/cook. Ms. Lewis is going to stay on until the baby is born so the maid/cook will be familiar with what we like and don't like." "Rory, that is ridiculous. Can't you just tell her?" "Him," Rory said. "Him? You hired a male maid?" "Yes, he is also a trained medic." "Where did you find him? In the army" "Yes" Lorelai just shook her head. "I don't know you anymore. Logan has changed you. He had to be in control. I know that it is his idea. Next thing you will be joining the DAR and hosting parties." "Mom, I am a member of the DAR, I also host parties. None of this has anything to do with Logan."

Lorelai started pacing the kitchen. "What about Ricky, you are taking another child in to raise. You don't know what kind of kid he is. He may be a troublemaker, he could bring drugs into your house or be like Logan, have a different woman every night." Rory's mouth opened, then closed. She didn't know how to respond to that.

Before she could think of what to say, Logan and Christopher came into the kitchen. Logan stood there looking around. He had heard most of the conversation on Gigi's phone. "Karson, Gigi, the boys went upstairs to clean up. Would you please go help them?" Karson and Gigi left the kitchen as Christopher was entering.

Logan walked over to where Rory was sitting. He knelt down in front of her. "Are you okay?" she nodded her head yes. "What did you think I was going to do? She is fine. I would not hurt her." Lorelai said. He sat down next to her and took her hand. "Lorelai, if you have a problem with me, I will...." "Yes, Logan I have a problem with you. But I am not talking about you right now. I am talking about my daughter. I don't know anymore." "Lorelai" Logan started again. "We can go into the office and discuss the problem that you have with me, but I will not stand here and let you talk bad about me in front of my wife. I will listen to what you have to say and maybe we can come to some agreement to get along. But I will not let you disrespect me in my house in front of everyone." "Your house? This house belongs to Rory." Lorelai said. "Yes, you are right. This house belongs to Rory, but I am Rory's husband." "You should have signed a prenup Rory," Lorelai said under her breath.

"Okay, Lorelai," Christopher said. But Lorelai interrupted him "Christopher, this has nothing to do with you." "Our daughter is pregnant. She has been advised by her doctor...." Lorelai interrupted again. "I know she is my daughter. She had been my daughter since I gave birth to her." "Lorelai," Logan started, "I think it would be best for you to leave now." Lorelai was talking over Logan. "Who put you in control of Rory's life. She has to check with you before she can even come to visit. You are nothing be a control freak." Rory said under her breath "Emily much?" Logan was mad, but that was funny. He was trying not to laugh. Lorelai continued ranting. She was pacing back and forth. Logan stood up, bringing Rory with him. He could tell Rory was about to lose it. She had tears in her eyes. Logan led Rory out of the kitchen, stopping at Christopher. "Rory and I are going for a drive. Somewhere quiet and relaxing. Will you please let Karson know?" Christopher nodded his head as Logan and Rory left and Lorelai stood staring.
