Chapter 25-Christmas Schedule

When they arrived at the Hartford office. Logan and the pilot loaded the suitcases in the car. Logan carried Rory to the car. She was still very sleepy. When they got to the Hartford Manor, Luke and Lorelai are waiting for them. Luke helped unpack the car and Lorelai helped Rory get settled on the couch in the den. Rory asked about the boys. Lorelai told her that Billy and Karson took them to get ice cream so that she can get settled in before being bombarded by the boys.

When Billy, Karson, and the boys arrived, Luke was in the kitchen making supper. Lorelai was watching him. Rory and Logan were in the den on the couch watching tv. Lorelai heard the boys come in the door and went to intercept them. She told them that mama was sick, and they need to be quiet and helpful so that mama will feel better soon. Both boys went to the den to check on Rory. With Logan and Lorelai's help, the boys got up on the couch to give Rory a hug. She told them that is all the medicine she needs. Karson followed the boys. "Let's go get washed up for Supper. It will be ready soon.

Logan helped Rory up. They went to the dining room table. Luke had fixed soup and mashed potatoes for Rory. He cooked pot roast and vegetables for the rest of the group. While everyone was getting to the table, Logan went to the pool house to see if Billy would be joining them. When he returned, he had Billy in tow. They enjoyed a nice supper and dessert. Rory was able to sit through supper. She was feeling better. She hoped that the side effects will not be bad.

The rest of the week went by as normal as possible. Rory laid around all day Friday. Billy took the boys to the zoo and the aquarium. By the time the boys got home, they were tired. So was Billy. Karson took the day off to go Christmas shopping with some friends.

Saturday they all headed to Stars Hollow. They enjoyed the day with Luke, Lorelai, and the rest of the town folks. In the afternoon, they had Rory and Logan a wedding shower at the DragonFly. Everyone had a wonderful time. Logan and Rory had not registered anywhere, because they did not need anything. The town folk enjoyed spending time with the family. As per usual, the town is quirkier so were the gifts.

Finally, Sunday afternoon, Billy left to go back to Jacksonville. He and Rory had talked several times and it was agreed that Ronnie's family will come back with him the week of Christmas. Rory and Logan had several obligations during that week. Some included the kids. Some did not. Between now and Christmas, Rory and Billy agreed to work on a schedule.

Rory asked Logan to get with his parents and Honor to go ahead and set times and dates so that they could make a calendar to keep the schedule on track if that is possible. After Billy left, Logan went to the Pool house/office for some privacy. He needed to make some phone calls while Rory and the boys put a puzzle together. He called Honor and told her that he needed a schedule of events that needed to be attended the week of Christmas. Honor told Rory that Shira was at her house now and she is sure Mitchum is in Hartford. She would call him and have him come over. They could all sit down and work on a Christmas Schedule. Logan told Rory that he needed to know about the events that they would be attending in Stars Hollow. Rory told Logan that Christmas Day would be spent at the Gilmore Manor, with Lorelai, Luke, and April, and family. In the afternoon, Lane and her family, Collin and his family, and Finn would be there. She told Logan to invite Mitchum, Shira, Honor, and her family.

Logan left with the notes on his calendar. He had the HPG party, but that was the week before Christmas. He met with Honor, Mitchum, and Shira at a coffee house in Hartford. Shira was not too happy. Honor had her calendar out when Logan got there. Honor "Your late little brother" "Yeah, it took me a little longer than I thought to leave the house." "How's Rory?" Honor asked. "She's doing better. The side effects are just about nonexistent today. She should be back to herself by tomorrow. The boys only have half-day until Christmas vacation. I'll help her and Karson get them ready for school before I leave. I'm working out of the Hartford office this week." "When do you plan to go to Toronto? They are expecting you before Christmas." Mitchum asked. "I'm not sure. I have them on the list. Do you want to go with me? I was going to see if Ace wanted to go, but if you would rather go, I can arrange that." "Yeah, I want to go. I need to talk with Herman while I am there. He has a project he wants me to look into. I think you should still ask Rory to come too. The boys will have a ball at the new adventure land that opened this year. I hear they have skiing and snowboarding." Logan opened his calendar on his phone. Before he and Mitchum could compare calendars, Shira spoke up. "I know that I did not interrupt my Sunday at the club to listen to you schedule work meeting." Mitchum looked up. Logan cleared his throat. "No mom, I did not ask you to meet with us to discuss work schedules. I want to go ahead and mark my calendar for family time. I want to see what events that Rory and I will be able to attend." "So, you have moved in. I guess next you will tell me that you are married." "Mother" Honor said. "he is engaged to Rory. The wedding is planned for New Year's Eve in Stars Hollow." Shira just stared at Honor, then turned to Mitchum. "I am guessing this is not news to you?" "Shira, I do not want to fight. Although we are divorced, we still are parents to 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren, so please do not pick a fight with me. I knew about the engagement. Logan and I talk, not just about business, but about his life. Ever since he came back to HPG, I made it my mission to get to know him as a son, not just an heir." He put his hand on Logan's shoulder. "Mom, I told you about the engagement and the date of the wedding. Don't' you remember, I asked you if you would be bringing a plus one. You told me that you would get back with me." Logan said as he looked into his mother's eye, looking for some kind of response or recognition. He didn't see anything but cold eyes. He just shook his head.

Honor said. "Okay, let's get back to the Christmas plans. Logan, what do you have on your calendar?" Honor and Logan started talking about when and where, dates and times, kid-friendly or not. During Honor and Logan's discussion, Shira looked at Mitchum. "Did you say, 4 grandchildren?" Mitchum nodded his head. He looked at Logan and Honor. "I want a night the week of Christmas for all of us, Rory, Josh, and all the boys to come to the Hartford Manor and exchange gifts." Shira said, "my house?" Logan looked at her and said "No, that house belongs to Honor and me. I think that is a wonderful idea. You are all invited to Christmas day at the Gilmore Manor. We will have family time first thing in the morning, then after lunch, our house will be opened up to our friends. I would like for you to come on Christmas morning to see the boys open Santa Claus. Honor I know you will have that at your house, but you are welcome to come after. Luke and Lorelai will spend the night Christmas eve, not sure about April and her family, so they will be there when the boys get up. Billy will also be there. Not sure about Billy's sister Ronnie and her family. Christopher and Gigi will be there 1st thing Christmas morning, but they will not be spending the night. Think about it and get with either me or Rory." The whole time Logan was talking Shira just started at Mitchum. Mitchum stood up. "Logan, Honor, just send me a copy of the schedule. Let me know when and where. I will be there. Don't forget about the HPG Christmas Party in New York. I'm going to the apartment. I want to watch a movie and take a nap. I am retired you know." He said as he winked at them. "Logan don't forget to schedule at least 3 days in Toronto. Make it soon so it does not interfere with Christmas plans." Mitchum said as he put on his coat and headed for the door. Shira is still just sitting there. It's like she is in shock. Honor and Logan turned back to the schedule. After about an hour, they had a temporary schedule.

Logan and Honor left with a schedule to talk with Rory and Josh. They both seemed to think that the schedule would work.
