Chapter 40 Getting Wedding Ready

Sunday at the Gilmore Manor was quiet. Everyone was tired. It had been an exciting and exhausting week. Christmas is over. Rest today. Tomorrow starts wedding week. When Logan finally came downstairs Sunday morning, Rory was curled up on the sofa reading a book. Both boys were putting a puzzle together on their new puzzle table. Logan went straight to the kitchen for a cup of coffee. He leaned down and kissed Rory's head before sitting down in the chair next to her. "How long have you been up?" Logan asked. "Heard the boys around 7:30. It was 7:45 or so before they came looking for me to feed them. Growing boys, you know." "Thanks, you for letting me sleep, but I could have got up with them so you could sleep." "I'm fine. I don't mind."

The rest of the day was just lazy. They watched movies, played a few kid-friendly board games with the boys. Karson got home before dark. She was exhausted. She went straight to bed. She told Rory she would be up early with the boys tomorrow.

Christopher called. He talked with Stanley. Air Hayden will be ready to fly out of Hartford on the 9th. He gave Rory the number to call when she knew what time Lorelai would want to leave.

After she got off the phone with her Dad, Rory told Logan. She will have to start packing tomorrow. She will have to see if the boys have any summer or spring clothes to wear while they are in California. She also told him that she had been ordering her some clothes to wear while she was in Hawaii and California. She told him no to open the packages as they come in this week. She had a few things that she would like to surprise him with.

The rest of the week passed by fast. Logan worked some the first part of the week. He was hoping to get enough done that he would not need to do anything work-related on his honeymoon.

Wednesday morning Logan did not go to work. He decided to do what he needed from Rory's office. Finn, Collin, and Robert were due at about 2:00. Finn called Sunday to inform Logan that he and the rest of the crew would be in around 2:00 Wednesday and that his bachelor party was planned for Wednesday night at Lorelai's request. She didn't want them drunk or have a hangover for the rehearsal supper or the wedding.

Rory was due in Stars Hollow Wednesday night at 7:00. She was told to bring the boys and prepare to spend the night. Pack separately.

While Logan was in the office working, Rory was packing for herself and the boys to stay overnight in Stars Hollow. She was also doing laundry so that she could pack for her and Logan for their Honeymoon and Will and Chris for their stay in Stars Hollow and them for their trip to California. Looking at her list of things to do before the rehearsal supper she came to the conclusion that on her wedding night she would be too tired to consummate. She was laughing to herself, smiling when Logan came into the bedroom. "What are you smiling about Ace?" "I was just thinking I will be too tired to consummate our marriage on our wedding night. I have too much to do." "Sorry, you do not get a pass, "Logan said with a smirk.

Logan left to go meet the guys after helping Rory and Karson load the car. They had decided it was best for the guys to stay at Finn's suite at the Martin instead of at the Gilmore Manor. As Logan was exiting the gate, Honor was entering. She got out of the car and rang the bell. She opened the door before anyone could answer. "Rory" Honor said loudly as she headed up the stairs. "Honor, I'm in the kitchen. What is going on?" The boys had been upstairs when they heard Aunt Honor. They came running down hoping Samuel and Joshua were with her. "hey guys" She said as she ruffled their heads. "Did you being Samuel and Joshua?" Will asked. "No guys, sorry. They are with their Nanny. You will get to see them at the rehearsal supper." The boys headed back upstairs as Rory came out of the kitchen drying her hands. "Hey, Honor. I was just about to leave for Stars Hollow. You are coming to my Bachelorette party?" "Yes, I just need about 10 minutes of your time before you leave. I need to get the okays on the rehearsal supper." "Oh, I'm sure whatever you decide will be fine. Just get with mom. It will be at the Inn." "I have been talking to Lorelai. We have everything worked out with the exception of a few tables and the seating arrangement" Rory sat down and looked at her watch. "Let me see what you got." They poured over the seating chart. They questioned if it was okay to sit Cynthia and Jessi at the table with Mitchum. Mitchum, being the father of the groom, was sitting at the head table with Logan, Rory, Rory's parents, the bridesmaids, and groomsmen. They decided to sit Cynthia and Jessi with John and Stephen. Rory suggested it and told her that she would get Logan to call John so that he will know who she is and maybe they will not feel too awkward.

Honor left and Rory loaded up the boys in the car. Karson was driving her car so she would be able to take the boys back home tomorrow.

Sorry, this chapter is so short. I am going to try to have a chapter on the bachelor party and the bachelorette party.
