Chapter 129 Friday at the Vineyard

Everyone staggered into the kitchen at different times, Friday morning. Cynthia had laid out an array of pastries from the bakery by the pier, fresh fruit cut up and ready to eat or put in the blender with some yogurt. Variety of yogurts and breakfast bars. Because everyone had different things to do Friday, they decided to just let breakfast take care of itself. When Rory woke up, Logan was already out of bed. She slowly got up, took a shower, and headed to the kitchen. She stopped by the office to tell Logan that she was tired of waking up alone, but he was not in the office.

After grabbing a bowl of fruit from the kitchen, she headed out on the deck. She could see Logan, Ricky, Collin, Josh, and all the boys throwing the frisbee. She smiled, "I guess, I will have to let it slide since he is playing with the boys," Rory said to herself. "What was that sweetie?" Rory jumped. She thought she was alone on the deck. She turned around to see Lana and Gigi. "Hey, didn't know you were here. It's good to see you. When did you all get in?" "Late last night. We missed the ferry so dad hired a helicopter to bring us to the island" Gigi said. "He dropped us off on his way to the ferry to ride over and get our car," Gigi said. "Where's Karson?" "I'm not sure. I just got up, tried calling her phone. I don't see Cynthia, Jessi, or Honor, so there is no telling. They may be shopping." Rory said as Gigi walked off tapping on her phone. "I see Logan, Josh, Ricky, and the boys, Where is Mitchum?" Lana asked. Rory smiled, "As I said, I just got up." Rory said. "There's fruit and pastries in the kitchen, Help yourself," Rory said as she stepped closer to the gate to the beach.

Rory stood watching the guys throw the frisbee. Logan looked good. He was wearing his board shorts, barefoot with no shirt. He looked damn good. Rory was thinking. About that time the sun caught his wedding ring. Yes, he belongs to me, she was thinking. Gigi called to her from the deck. That caught the attention of the guys on the beach. She smiled and waved then headed back up the steps to the deck.

"I found Karson," Gigi said. "Oh, yeah? Shopping?" Rory asked? "Yeah, they will be back in a few minutes." Rory nodded. She heard the gate click and looked up Logan was showering the sand off and putting on his shirt. "Nope, take it back on," Rory said. Logan looked up at her. "What?" "Take the shirt back off. It's not fair to the rest of the female population to be denied the sight of you without a shirt." Logan laughed and Gigi said, "Eww, No, Don't want to think about it." "Well, I won't cry if you kept it off" Rory and Gigi both looked back to the door. Lana was standing there with a bowl of fruit in her hand. "Sorry to disappoint, but there is only one lady I want admiring my body," Logan said.

Mitchum walked out on the deck, hearing the last part of the conversation. "I agree with Logan. His stripping days are gone. Although he could have saved me a lot of money when he was in college." Logan laughed "Dad, what I did in my early college years that anyone would have paid me to do is illegal." Mitchum let out a hardy laugh. "I bet," he said. "New subject," Rory said. "I know I started it, but I'm finished now." She stood up, Kissed Logan, and said. "I'm going for a swim." Logan admired her as she walked to the steps of the pool and took off her terry cloth cover-up, and stepped into the pool. "Let me check on the boys and I will join you," Logan said walking toward the gate to the beach.

"Mitchum, what about you? I'm sure stripped back in the day" Lana said. "I did a lot of things back in the day as you say. Too many mistakes to count." He turned to go back into the house. Gigi was listening. Some things you can't unheard of. She had her AirPods in, but the music wasn't loud enough. She turned it up, making a face and shaking her head.

Karson and the girls returned with several shopping bags. Gigi heard them enter. She left the deck to go see what they bought. Logan and Rory were in the deep end of the pool on pool noodles, relaxing. Rory liked the feeling of being weightless. Dr. Boyett was on to her about gaining more weight but she was still within the accepted range.

Logan heard Ricky say, "Wait, you have to shower off." Will was whining "But it's cold" "Move Will, It's not cold to me," Chris said. "You just a baby" "No I am not. Ricky tells him I'm not a baby" Will said. Logan was smiling. "After 3 boys, this princess should be a breeze," Logan said. Rory laughed, "You will eat those words." Rory said laughing.

It didn't take long before everyone was in the pool. Rory swam to the steps. "Do you need me to help you out?" Mitchum asked. "No, I'm just getting out of their way. Logan and Ricky are going to set up the net." Rory said. She looked around. Cynthia and Mitchum both were sitting on the edge of the pool by the steps with their feet in the water. Karson, Gigi, and Jessi were playing with Will, Chris, Sam, and Joshua. Logan and Ricky are setting up the net so they can play ball. Honor and Josh went visiting. Her dad had not gotten back yet and she was not sure where Lana was.

After they got the net set up, Ricky threw the balls for Logan to catch as he jumped in the pool. Cynthia stood up. "Hey" she yelled. "Everyone look at me" They all turned to look at Cynthia. I'm going to order Pizza. Is that okay with everyone?" Cynthia asked. "I not like nothing but cheese," Will said. "Flat," Chris said. "Okay, 1 flat cheese pizza. Does anyone else have any special request, or can I just order a variety?" She asked. Everyone went back to playing. She looked at Mitchum. I guess that's okay?" Mitchum laughed and nodded his head.

When Cynthia got to the kitchen to get the take-out menus out of the door, Lana was sitting at the kitchen table eating the leftover lasagna from Wednesday night. "Hey, just getting the number for pizza delivery. Ordered for the group. Any specialty you want?" Lana shook her head. "No, I'm fine." and got up from the table to go sit on the deck. Cynthia was studying the different menu and decided how many pizzas she would need and what sides. After she got off the phone, she called the security team to let them know that pizza was on its way and for them to grab a couple of pizzas for themselves. She looked at the table as she was replacing the menus, Lana left her dirty dishes on the table. She walked out on deck to see if maybe she was coming back but got distracted. Mitchum was sitting by Rory on the steps of the pool, Lana was sitting close by. Cynthia smiled, Mitchum moved away from her when she sat down. Cynthia giggled. It got Mitchum's attention and shook his head. Cynthia laughed. "What's so funny?" She turned around. She didn't expect anyone to be behind her. "Hey, Christopher. I was just laughing at Mitchum." Cynthia turned around to go clean off the table but decided against it. Rory would not allow the boys to leave their mess on the table. Grant you, they had to have help so they didn't spill, but this is the way they learn. "Hey Lana," Cynthia said. Lana looked at her like what do you want? "Are you finished with the lasagna? If so, the dishwasher is empty, I emptied it this morning. The pizza will be here shortly and I am going to need the table cleaned off so I can sit the pizza on it." Cynthia said. Cynthia looked at Rory. Rory had a questioned look on her face. "Twins" Rory spoke loud enough for them to hear. "Do you leave a mess on the table in the kitchen? If you did, you need to go clean it up." Rory told them. "No moma. We eat watermelon and donuts here when we wake up." Chris said. "I not been in the house," Will said. "Okay, I was just checking. I know you boys know it is good manners to clean up after yourself and if you can't you are supposed to get a grown-up to help." Both boys nodded their heads and went back to the water gunfight going on in the pool. "Rory, It wasn't me either. I ate with the boys this morning." Jessi said. "Thank you sweetie for letting me know."

Lana stood up. "It's my plate. I will move it to the sink," she mumbled as she went back into the house. Christopher was watching. He had a feeling he was missing something.
