Chapter 57 Decorating the Pool House and Busted Pipes

The Dragonfly had a pipe burst so Lorelai and Luke were tied up all day. Christopher dropped Gigi off at the Gilmore-Huntzburger Manor and picked up Logan and the Twins. Christopher and Logan are taking the twins to the amusement park. Rory and Gigi laughed at them. Christopher and Logan were more excited than Will and Chris. Logan kissed Rory on the lips as they were leaving. "Ace, we will not be back for lunch." "Don't worry about Logan between me and Gigi, I am sure we will come up with something," Karson said.

After they heard the car drive off, Rory said. "Okay" Looking at her watch "we have about an hour before the decorator gets here. She is charging double to meet on Sunday, but I need the plans in place before Ricky gets here Monday night." Karson grabbed the swatches and color palettes as they headed to the pool house. Logan had already moved Rory's office out of there. Rory was going to have the decorator look at the office also. When Rory remodeled after she moved in, she turned her grandfather's study into a library. Logan had taken up one of the downstairs bedrooms for his office. Now that Rory was moving into his office, they decided to decorate it too.

The girls were in the pool house looking at different patterns and fabrics, laughing at Rory tell the story about the 'sex den' when Olivia knocked on the door. "Come in, we were just looking over the different fabrics." "Hello girls, I have several ideas in my book," Olivia said as she laid it on the bar. "Rory, Congratulations, I wish you and your husband many happy years. I understand you want to make this into a 'man cave'." Olivia said as she started thumbing through the book samples that she brought.

Olivia was looking at the book and she missed the look of horror on Rory's face. "No, Olivia, I have a 20-year stepson that will be staying with us while he is going to college. I want the pool house for him. I want to make it more masculine. But I definitely don't want a 'man cave'. Rory said with a smile on her face. Olivia said, "oh, well let's see what we got." They all gathered around the books and started pointing stuff out.

After Olivia and Rory agreed on what needed to be done in the pool house, Rory asked her to come to look at the bedroom that is now being used for an office. While they were gone, Karson and Gigi went down to the Karson's apartment to talk. "Okay, spill," Karson said when they sat down on the sofa. "What do you want me to spill about?" Gigi asked. "Well, we can start with what happened with you and Louie, and then we can move on to Ricky." Gigi giggled, "Well let's skip Louie and talk about Ricky." Gig sat up. "It has been about 2 and a half years since I saw Ricky. I was maybe 14. He was so cute. I had a crush on him. He was staying with Rory and Billy the last summer that Rory and Billy were married. Dad had a trip to Japan planned. Some stuffy meetings. Anyway, My mom was in France, but she had to work. Dad was not comfortable leaving me with her. So, I spent a couple of weeks in Jacksonville with Rory. Ricky was just 17. He was trying to get Billy to buy him a car before he went back to California for his senior year. It was funny to watch Ricky. If Billy even looked like he wanted something to drink or anything, Ricky would jump up and get it for him. He made himself Billy's slave."

"Well, did he buy him a car?" "Yes, but it was not until he flew him back home to California. Ricky was so mad. He wanted Billy to buy him a car so that he could drive around Jacksonville." The girls were still laughing and giggling when Rory came downstairs. "Hey, how about lunch?" Both girls jumped up and said yes.

Meanwhile, at the amusement park, Christopher and Logan were watching the boys on the motorcycles while talking. "How bad do you think it will be," Logan asked. "Lorelai was upset last night. I'm not sure if it is Ricky coming to stay or You and Rory getting a second Nanny." Christopher answered. Logan chuckled "She is really going to be pissed when she finds out Ms. Lewis is retiring and we are hiring a full-time cook/maid and a night nurse. Rory is going to be working from home. She will be there for the boys and the new baby. I just want her to be able to enjoy the kids while they are little. I don't want her to have to worry about them if she needs to take a meeting." "I understand, believe me. I was raised by nannies. You were too. If it had not been for my nanny, I don't know what I would be." Christopher said. "Me too. The only way I survived being at home was because of Honor and our Nanny. Shira was too busy or drunk to care and Mitchum was always gone." Logan said. "I don't want my children raised like that, but I want my wife and I to enjoy the children also." Christopher nodded.
