Logan and Rory were still in bed at 10:00 Friday morning when Rory's cell phone started to ring. "Hello," Rory answered. "Mama", both Will and Chris said. "We played ball with Poppy." Chris said, "No, dummy, we watch poppy play ball." Will said. "Will don't call your brother a dummy. I bet you had fun. Did Nana go?" "Yes, nana was there" Lorelai answered. Rory and the boys laughed. Will said, "she had on a floppy hat." Then Chris added "Poppy told her 'Lorelai sit down, you are embarrassing me''" Both boys were laughing so hard they could sit up. They talked for a few minutes, well until the twins got bored. Then Rory and Lorelai talked. Rory told her about Shira wanting to help and insisting on coming to the apartment this morning. Lorelai asked Rory if she needed to call on the spirit of Emily. Rory told her "No, I can handle Shira. I have enough of Emily in me not to mention France in my blood. Shira has nothing of her own. Logan and Honor give her an allowance. They allow her to live in the Huntzburger Manor. She does not realize I do not need her. She needs me." Lorelai laughed "Go get her tiger" They hung up after that. Lorelai had to go check on the boys. She could hear them arguing over the remote to the tv.

Rory told Logan that they needed to get up and get dressed. "If my memory is correct, we need to get the clothes that are strung from the front door to the bottom of the stairs up before she gets here," Logan said. "No, leave them. Let her know that she is interrupting our time together." Rory laughed as she headed to the bathroom to take a shower. Logan was laying in bed when he heard her turn on the water in the shower. She stuck her head out of the bathroom, "are you joining me." Logan jumped up and headed to the bathroom. "Yes''

Logan and Rory were in the kitchen fixing a salad and some sandwiches for lunch when the doorbell rang. Logan had already told Jeffery that Shira would be arriving around noon and to just let her up. Logan went to open the door. "Mother, nice to see you again." He said as he kissed her cheek. "Rory is in the kitchen finishing up the salad and sandwiches we made for lunch." "You and Rory made sandwiches for lunch?" "And a Salad" Logan said. "Is that a problem? Mother, please do not start. Rory has agreed to let you help with the wedding although she does not really need it." Shira looked at Logan and smiled. "Yes, I am aware that she thinks she does not need me, but Logan without Emily to help I am afraid this wedding will be.... I'm not sure of the word I want to use." "This wedding we will be just what Rory wants it to be," Logan said as they walked toward the kitchen. "Shira, come in. Have a seat. I have just finished the sandwiches, would you like a drink?" "Yes, a dirty martini would be nice." She said as Logan showed her to the bar. "I'm sorry Mother, it is too early to be drinking. We have coffee, tea, water or soda. Take your pick. "I'll have water please." As Rory went to get three bottles of water out of the refrigerator, Logan looked at Shira and said, "Did I need to remind you to be on your best behavior?" Shira shook her head "No Logan, I hear you loud and clear. You will take away my credit cards" Logan looked at her. He was trying to see if she was sincere or if she was being sarcastic.

When they finished with lunch, Rory and Shira moved to the dining room table. Rory had her binder and all her color swatches laid out. Rory told Shira what she had planned. She told her that her mother was getting all the permits to have the wedding at the gazebo. Stephanie and Honor were in charge of the decorations. She further explained that she needed to pick up the pants suit and Logan's new suit while she was in New York. She told Shira that the reception will be at the Dragonfly and that Sookie was catering it. Shira was making notes as Rory told her all this. "I have never heard of Sookie. Who does she caterer for?" Rory explained that Sookie was her mother's best friend and co-owner of the DragonFly. She also told her that Sookie was the best cook around.

Shira asked about cakes. Rory told her that Sookie would also make the cake. "We if she is such a good friend of your mothers, wouldn't she like to be at the wedding instead of working it." "Sookie will have all of this done before the wedding. She will be a guest. We have wait staff to serve us." They talked for another hour or so. Shira decided she would be in charge of the flowers. Rory told her to get with Honor. She would be able to tell her what is needed.

As Shira was leaving, she stopped at the door. "Oh Rory, don't worry about the rehearsal supper. I will take care of that" then she opened the door and left. Rory just stood there. She was not sure what just happened. Logan came out of the office, "Ace, did she say she would take care of the rehearsal supper?" Rory just nodded her head. Logan said "No." Rory just stared and said, "I'll call Honor."

Rory, Logan, Steph, Finn, and Collin had a movie night Friday Night. After the first movie, "Hutch" the boys moved to the "Man Cave" to play poker, while Rory and Steph watched another movie and talked. Rory told her about her meeting with Shira. Stephanie said "Honor called me after you called Honor. We are meeting with Shira Monday to help her plan." Rory told her "thank you. I fear that she will try to sabotage the rehearsal supper.

After everyone left, Rory and Logan headed to bed. They needed their rest. The Sandlot Christmas party is nothing compared to the HPG Christmas party.
