This isn't a problem in the slightest unless it's a pet that requires live bugs or rodents as feed. He'd be worried about the possibilities of having loose mice or crickets around his house. But if you have a separate unit for them that's pretty secure then he might change his mind. Other than that he's more than happy to give you and your pretty kitty a brand new home!
He'll buy some scratching posts and any toys that have little bells on the end. You don't even have to worry about paying for vet bills, food, litter, or anything else because Melone will cover the cost completely. He doesn't want you fretting over their needs since you're now unemployed because of him. Just tell Melone what they need and it'll be taken care of. Hopefully you don't get weird during your arguments because he'd still want to play with your pet.

PESCI
He's kind enough to take your pet with you even if they're something he's not exactly a fan of. There'd only be a problem if your pet is aggressive or untrained. Pesci doesn't want your pet pissing all over the place and he doesn't want to clean shit out of the carpet. Promise him that once they get to his house you'll be serious about training them to not do that. He'll give them time to become comfortable with their new surroundings though.
Once they've been around him enough it's easy for Pesci to resume like normal and treat them as his own. He wouldn't mind taking them for walks or buying them some new toys. Yes, he's going to take them to the vet and pet groomer even if the both of you are arguing at the moment. Your relationship won't affect how he treats your pet! The only thing you have to worry about is your pet ruining his house or harming him. That's the only thing that'll make him get rid of them.
