Connie walked into her office and was shocked to find Jacob sat at her desk.
"Can I help you staff nurse masters?" She asked with a perculiar look.
"You're needed in the staff room" Jacob told her as he stood up.
"Right ok, give a few minutes" she said but Jacob picked her up and carried her out of her office as if he was carrying her over the threshold.
"Jacob put me down! This is completely unprofessional" Connie shouted at him as many of the staff laughed at the sight.
"Sorry sweetcheeks, I can't do that yet" he said as he walked towards the staffroom.
He put her down outside the closed door and folded his arms, "go on" he said.
She looked at him strangly but opened the door only to run forward to hug the figure infront of her.
"Oh my god Gracie what are you doing here?" Connie asked with tears in her eyes.
"Jacob rang daddy and asked if I could home, I missed you mummy so he let me" Grace said as she hugged Connie.
"I've missed you so much too darling, I'm so glad you're home" Connie cried.
"I'm glad I'm home too mummy" Grace said.
They finally seperated from their hug and Connie turned around to face Jacob.
"You did this for me?" She asked with tears in her eyes.
"Yeah, I couldn't stand seeing you upset, you deserve to be happy Connie" he said.
Connie smiled at him and hugged him tightly.
"Woah queen bee, I wasn't expecting that" Jacob said.
"Good, then you won't be expecting this" Connie said before placing a gente kiss to his lips, "thank you Jacob" she said before gently kissing him again.
"Awww! Mummy loves Jacob" Grace squealed happily.
Connie blushed then covered her face as she started to laugh then turned back around to Grace.
"Oi you, I'm going to take the day off and we are going to do whatever you want darling" she said.
"Can Jacob come too?" she asked Connie hopefully.
Connie turned back around to look at him, "if he wants too" she said.
"I'd love to, I'll clear it with Rita" he said.
"Don't bother, I'm giving you the day off, she'd only say no. Come on, let's go" Connie said then she took Grace's hand in hers.
"Can we go shopping? And for a pizza?" Grace asked.
"Sounds good to me princess, if it's alright with your mum" Jacob said.
"I suppose, as long as we buy shoes" Connie said.
"Can we go to the big shopping centre?" Grace asked.
"Whatever you want princess" Connie said then she led her out of the staffroom.
They left the ED quickly after Jacob got changed to avoid being pulled into treating a patient.
Grace climbed into the back of Connie's car then Jacob sat in the passenger seat next to her.
"Are you strapped in sweetheart?" Connie asked.
"Yes mummy" Grace replied.
Connie pulled out of the parking space then Jacob switched on the radio.
"I love this song" Grace said happily then she began to sing along to Katy Perry.
Half an hour later they arrived at the shopping centre.
"Can I go off on my own for a bit? Please mummy" Grace asked.
"I suppose, but you will have to take my phone and call Jacob if there's any problems. I'll give you a hundred pound to spend, now practice calling Jacob" Connie said as she handed her the phone.
Grace clicked on Connie's contacts and began to scroll through but a confused look came to her face, "mummy you don't have Jacob's number" she said.
Jacob looked at her strangly as her eyes went wide, "oh right, it's this one" Connie said as she pointed to a contact.
"Muscles? Why have you saved his number under muscles?" Grace asked.
Jacob started smirking at Connie who blushed with embarrassment, "I err, I don't know sweetheart, maybe I was drunk" she said before handing her five twenty pound notes.
"Ok mummy, I will see you later" Grace said.
"Alright sweetheart, I'll call you in an hour to see where you are up to" Connie said.
"Ok thank you!" Grace said before slipping off happily.
"Muscles?" Jacob asked with a raised eyebrow causing Connie to blush again.
"Don't worry, you're saved as sweetcheeks" Jacob told her.
"Would you like to go to get a coffee?" Connie asked him, trying to ignore his comment.
"Sounds good to me, sweetcheeks" he replied before taking her hand in his.
Connie looked down at their hands then back up at him and smiled.
They walked to a nearby Starbucks still hand in then ordered two lattes before sitting down at a table.
"I want to talk to you about before in the staffroom" Connie said.
Jacob reached across the table and took her hand in his, "it was a shock, I'll tell you that" he said.
"Grace, she said that I loved you. I didn't want to say anything around her really but I'll admit it, she's right Jacob. I'm in love with you" Connie confessed.
"Well that's good, because I'm in love with you too. I want you to be happy Connie, that's why I got Grace back for you, because I could see how much it hurt you being away for her" Jacob said.
"I really can't thank you enough though" Connie said.
"You don't have to thank me sweetcheeks, I'd give you the world if I could" he replied.
Connie smiled then lent across the table to him as he did the same then he gently kissed her lips.
"You're so beautiful" he whispered.
"You aren't too bad yourself staff nurse masters, but I have to warn you, if you ever carry me in work again then I'll kill you, understood?" Connie said.
"Understood sweetcheeks" he said with a grin.
