"Connie" Jacob started as she entered her office.
She shook her head and sat down next to him, placing her finger on hips lips.
"I'm sorry I snapped at you, I didn't understand the situation" she said before kissing his cheek gently.
He slowly took her finger off his lips, "it's ok sweetcheeks, I should of told you the situation with her. But please, don't ever think I'm embarrassed by you, Grace or our baby. You're the best things to ever happen me" he said.
"Jacob tell me to back off all you want, maybe it's not my place but, well, she's your mum. She came to visit you knowing very well that you could push her away so she clearly wants to make amends. What she did, I completely understand why you'd be angry, but if you could think about talking to her? Not just for you, me, or her, but for our baby to have a grandmother" Connie told him.
Jacob nodded slightly, "I'll talk to her. And thank you, for talking to her, and making me see sense" he said.
"No need to thank me" she replied.
He smiled and lifted her into his lap, running his hands over her tiny bump, "I love you" he whispered in her ear.
"I love you too" Connie said softly.
He grinned and kissed her, sliding his tongue across her lips begging for entrance which she granted quickly.
She looped her arms around his neck and tilted her head a little as he roamed her mouth.
He smiled into the kiss and stroked her cheek gently, "you're so beautiful" he said against her lips.
"You aren't too bad yourself muscles" she replied.
Jacob chuckled, "come on queen bee, I need to talk to her, would you mind being with me?" he asked.
"Course not babe" she said as she got off his knee.
They left her office hand in hand then went to cubicals.
Jacob pulled back the curtain earning a soft smile from his mum.
"Happy birthday" she said.
"Thanks... So, how's the arm?" He asked.
"Fine, thanks to your wonderful fiancé" Victoria replied.
Jacob smiled and gave Connie a little nudge, "yeah she is pretty amazing" he said.
"Well congratulations on the baby, both of you" Victoria said.
"About that... I... What you did, it hurt me, he was my dad and you cheated on him. Next thing I know, he's dead after finding out. Maybe I did overreact a bit, because as a nurse I should think about other factors too. But I can't change what happened and I can't punish you forever, so if it's ok, I'd like you to be in my child's life" Jacob told her.
"Jacob I'd love nothing more than to be in his or her life. I no I never should of done what I did, and I'm sorry for what I did to your dad. But I do really love Carl" Victoria replied.
"Yeah I got that, the wedding invite two years ago kind of gave it away. You can be a grandmother, as long as both you and Carl understand that he isn't grandad to my baby. I don't particularly like the guy myself, and he's certainly not my dad" he said.
"I know, he'd never try to be and I wouldn't want him to be. Your dad will always be your dad, I won't change that" she said.
"Thanks" Jacob said.
Connie looked at Victoria, "where are you staying?" she asked.
"The Harlow" she replied.
Connie looked at Jacob who nodded indicating that he approved, she hadn't needed to say anything for him to know what she was thinking,
"Would you like to stay with us?" She asked.
"Are you sure? Is that ok with you both? I wouldn't want to intrude" Victoria said.
"Mum it's fine, we'd like you to stay. Our shifts finish in ten minutes then we'll go home" Jacob said.
"Then thank you, I'd love to stay with you" she said.
Jacob nodded, "see you in a bit" he said before walking out with Connie holding his hand.
She smiled and lent into him, "I'm proud of you" she told him.
"Couldn't of done it without you" he grinned before pulling her into a passionate kiss.
