"Jacob I need to talk to you" Connie said as she walked into the kitchen.
"What's up babe?" He replied as he finished drinking his coffee.
"I'm pregnant" she told him.
Jacob looked at her and started chuckling, "yeah good one babe, anyway I'll see you at work" he laughed then pecked her lips before walking out.
Connie watched him walk away as tears began to fall down her face before she sank down to the floor holding her stomach.
Jacob drove to work, walking in to find Cal at reception.
"Cal, there's a stripper outside looking for you" he said as he patted him on the shoulder.
"Shit! I never tell them where I work!" he said in panic.
"April fools mate" Jacob laughed.
"Idiot" cal joked back.
"Ay Connie tried to get me to believe she was pregnant this morning, as if I didn't know what day it was" he smirked.
Rita's head snapped up, "Jacob go home" she said.
"What? I've only just got here, God I'm just having a joke Rita, calm your tits" Jacob said.
"Go! Now Jacob! And pick some flowers up on the way home!" Rita shouted at him.
"Jeez I'm going!" He replied, holding his hands up in surrender as he walked out of the ED.
Rita ran to her locker and grabbed her phone, quickly dialling Connie's number.
She answered a few minutes later, crying down the phone, "he just left Rita, I took the test last night then I came down this morning and told him. He laughed and left" she sobbed.
Rita sighed, "Connie do you know what day it is?" she asked her.
"Wednesday, I'm not stupid Rita!" she cried.
"No, you're not, but the date Connie. It's April 1st, April fools day. He thinks you were joking. I've sent him home, he doesn't know why but he's on his way" Rita told her.
"Oh my god! I feel so stupid!" Connie cried.
"It's an easy mistake to make Connie, I only realised when Jacob walked in and did an April Fools on cal. Not everyone remembers" she reassured her.
"Thank you" she sniffled.
"Not a problem, call me if you need me. Bye Connie" Rita said before ending the call.
Jacob arrived home twenty minutes later with a bunch of roses.
"Con? Where are you babe? Rita flipped out and sent me home, made me pick up flowers on the way home an all" he chuckled but his face dropped as he walked into the kitchen.
Connie sat crying with her knees hugged up to her chest on the floor.
"Baby? What's wrong?" he asked as he crouched down in front of her.
"I'm pregnant Jacob! I'm really pregnant, I didn't know it was April fools day so I told you" she cried.
"Oh my god sweetcheeks I'm so sorry" Jacob said as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her closer.
She clung to him and cried into his chest, "please don't leave me" she said.
"I won't I promise, I'm so sorry. I thought you were joking but I'm happy baby, I really am" he reassured her.
"Really? You mean that?" Connie asked.
"Really. I love you" he replied.
"I love you too" Connie sniffled as Jacob kissed her cheek gently.
