Hansen was just about to open the door to Connie's office when Rita stopped him.
"Mr Hansen! Can I help you?" She asked.
"Ahh Nurse Freeman, I'm looking for Mrs Beauchamp. I was told she was in her office" he said.
"No! She's gone up to Darwin" Rita lied.
"No she hasn't, I've just came from Darwin after a meeting with Ms Naylor and I didn't see her on my way down" he said.
"Stairs, she's taken the stairs" Rita said.
"Yes so did I, the lift isn't working" Hansen said then he lifted the handle and opened the door.
"Aah well now I understand why you didn't want me to come in here" he said as he looked at Connie and Jacob.
They were both sleeping, Connie with her head in Jacob's lap whilst they both had a hand resting on stomach.
Her top had risen up making it very clear that Connie was pregnant, something that she had been keeping from Hansen.
"Mrs Beauchamp, Staff Nurse Masters" he said with a cough.
Jacob grumbled and opened one eye but quickly opened them both as he spotted Hansen.
"Would you like to do the honours of waking her or should I?" Hansen asked.
"Our shifts finished half an hour ago, she has every right to be sleeping, it is her office after all" Jacob told him.
"Sleeping yes, sleeping with you, no. I'm assuming you are the father?" He asked Jacob.
"What's it to you?" Jacob responded.
"It has come to my attention that many office romances have been influencing judgement and taking many members of staff's minds away from the job. I won't stand for it any longer, what ever this is is ending. Today" Hansen spat at him.
"Jay" Connie mumbled as she sat up.
"You alright babe?" he asked her.
"Yes, err, Mr Hansen what are you doing in my office?" Connie asked harshly.
"Like I've said to staff nurse masters, office romances will no longer be tolerated. This ends today Mrs Beauchamp" Hansen warned her.
Connie glared at Hansen, "I'm resigning, with immediate affect" she told him.
"You wouldn't, we all know this job means everything to you. You even chose it over your daughter from what I heard" Hansen said snidley.
"Right let's get some things straight, you have absolutely no right to mention my daughter what so ever, whom is at home right now I'll have you know. You also should know that Jacob means so much more to me that the job, I could pay my own wages and you know it. If anything you need me unless you want this ED ran into the ground, Zoe Hanna is a great doctor but she's no clinical lead, same goes for Dr Keogh" Connie told him.
"Jacob means much more to you does he?" Hansen asked her.
"Yes,I love him" Connie spat.
Hansen smiled, "that's all I needed to here Mrs Beauchamp, congratulations to both of you on the baby" he told her.
"What? I thought you said office romances weren't allowed?" Jacob asked him.
"I do apologise staff nurse masters, I just wanted to make sure that this really was for keeps, of course we wouldn't want this ruining your professional relationship. Mrs Beauchamp I can assure you your resignation won't be necessary, you aren't going anywhere. I just came down to invite you to a board meeting with myself, Ms Naylor, Ms Campbell, Mr Declucia, Mr Griffen and Mr Levy tomorrow morning" Hansen said.
Connie nodded, "I'll be there, thank you Mr Hansrn" she said.
"Good day" he said then he left her office leaving Connie and Jacob confused.
"What the hell?" Jacob said.
"I haven't got a clue, he really is a strange man" Connie said causing Jacob to smirk.
"Would you really of done that? Quit your job to be with me?" he asked her.
"Yes, I'd do anything to be with you Jacob, I love you" Connie told him as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I love you too babe" Jacob replied then he kissed her lips genet and placed his hands on her bump before bending down.
"And daddy loves you too baby girl" he said as he lifted her blouse up and kissed her bump.
"You daft idiot" Connie giggled at him.
