Connie let herself into Sam's with the key he had given her a week or so before.
"Sam we need to talk!" She shouted.
"I know, mind if I go first?" he asked as she walked into the living room.
The lights where down low, the room only lit by candles with rose petals on the floor.
He handed her a glass of wine, he was wearing his best suit.
"What's going on?" she asked him.
"Connie, I love you. Giving us another go was the best decision we ever made, for us and for Grace. She loves living with you again, and I love you both being her with me most of the time. But I want to make it more permanent, Connie Beauchamp will you marry me?" he asked as he got down on one knee and took a ring out of his pocket.
"Wow, this was not how I was expecting to tell you" she muttered.
"Tell me what? Are you pregnant?" he asked.
"No Sam I'm not. I came to tell you that I'm leaving you. For Jacob" she confessed.
"You're what? I've asked you to marry me and you're leaving me?" he shouted.
"Yes. I just thought you should know because I'm going on holiday for a few weeks with him and Grace, don't worry I'm not taking her away from you, you'll see her when we get back" Connie said.
"This has got to be some sick joke! Darling I love you, why on earth would you want Jacob?" Sam said.
"Because I love him, like I've never loved anyone before and he loves me! He makes me feel alive, he's the man I want a family with" she replied.
"What about Grace? Is this what's best for her?" Sam shouted.
"She adores Jacob, it doesn't mean she loves you any less but he makes me happy and she can see that. She's in the car, you have a few minutes to say goodbye then we are going to the airport" Connie said then she put her glass down before walking out followed by Sam.
"Connie wait! How long has this been going on, you and Jacob?" he asked.
"Longer than you and that nurse. Did you really think I didn't know about that?" she shouted.
"I'm sorry, I love you! I'll fix things con" he pleaded.
"There's nothing to be fixed, we are over" Connie said as she climbed into the car next to Jacob.
Grace opened her window to Sam, "I'm going to Disney land daddy! I'll see you in a few weeks, I love you" she said happily.
"I love you too sweetheart, be careful. And call me yeah?" he said.
"I will" grace said.
"Jacob, promise me you'll never hurt them. Please" Sam said.
"Wouldn't dream of it" he replied.
"Good, well I see there's not much else I can do so, have a good time" he said reluctantly.
"Bye daddy" Grace said then she put her window back up as Jacob drove away.
Sam pulled his phone out of his pocket, "hey Chlo, come over. Oh bring some wine and condoms" he said before retreating back into the house.
"Ready for an adventure princess?" Jacob asked Grace.
"Yeah! I can't wait!" Grace shouted.
Connie looked over at Jacob and smiled, "I love you" she said.
"I love you too con, and I'm going to make sure I tell you that every single day" he replied.
