"Gather round everyone!" Hansen said as he approached the nurses station.
Quickly all of the staff crowded around, including Connie who was wondering what on earth he was doing in her ED giving orders to her staff.
"As you are probably all aware, team work and communication is key, well at least according to human resources. They have arranged for members of staff to take a lie detector test. This is in order for you to all truthfully know how you feel about each other and the working relationship you have. There for if you have an issues that a rise they can be solved. It also gives me a chance to check that all staff are following the rules. First of all I'd like to take Mrs Beauchamp, Staff Nurse Masters, Clinical Nurse Manager Freeman, Max Walker, Staff Nurse Hyde, Staff Nurse Miller, Dr Hardy, Dr Knight and Dr Chao" he informed them.
Connie went to protest but Hansen quickly jumped in, "it's happening Mrs Beauchamp" he told her.
The staff made their way up to the board room, each taking a seat.
"Mrs Beauchamp, I'm sure as clinical lead you should lead by example so you are going first" a woman told her as she set up the machine.
"This is pointless" connie groaned as she sat in the seat in front of everyone.
Jacob sat smirking at her, he was enjoying this.
"Is your name Constance Beauchamp?" The woman asked.
"Yes" Connie replied.
"You're telling the truth. Ok next question, do you find any of your staff extremely irritating?" she said.
"No" Connie told her.
"And that ones a lie" the woman informed the team.
Jacob chuckled a little, only then warning a glare from Hansen, but he knew who irritated Connie most.
"Now it's your turn to ask your boss some questions" the woman told the staff.
"What? No!" Connie protested.
"Yes, you have to answer Mrs Beauchamp" Hansen said.
"Ooh I've got one! Have you ever had sex at work?" Robyn asked.
"No!" Connie replied quickly, grimacing as the analyst laughed and read out the result, "lie."
"Have you ever had sex with someone from the ED?" Rita asked.
"No" Connie said again, although she was unsure why she was even bothering to fool her staff.
"Another lie" the analyst told them.
All the staff gasped and looked at her in shock, "who?!" Cal asked.
"I refuse to answer that one. I'm done" she replied as she took off the wires and got up.
"Okay, next candidate. Err I think we'll have Staff Nurse Masters" the analyst said as she looked at the list of names.
Jacob sighed and got up, moving to the other chair as she attached the wires to him.
"Let's start with some simple questions from me. Are you a nurse?" she asked.
"No, I'm a fireman playing dress up. Of course I'm a nurse" Jacob responded with a roll of his eyes.
Connie stiffled a laugh as the woman glared at Jacob, clearly not finding him funny.
"Ooh I've got a question, are you bigger than seven inches Jacob?" Cal smirked.
"Yes" Jacob replied confidently.
"Wow... Very interesting question, and he's telling the truth" the analyst chuckled.
Jacob smirked at Connie who sat at the back biting her lip.
"Have you slept with anyone from the ED then?" Robyn asked.
"No" he said.
"Lie" the woman announced.
Jacob groaned as Rita grinned wickedly, "we will find out who" she said.
"You won't" he laughed.
"Was it Louise?" Robyn asked.
Jacob didn't respond, and the analyst shook her head, "no reaction, I'd say that's a no" she said as she looked at the monitors.
"Well she is my cousin" he pointed out.
"Really?!" Max asked.
"He's telling the truth" the analyst said.
"Is it Lily?" Rita asked.
"Not according to the test" the analyst told them.
"Oh just tell us Jacob, and don't start telling us its Connie because we'll know that you've lied" Cal said.
Jacob grinned wickedly at Connie who shook her head frantically whilst throwing one of her signature glares to him.
"It's Connie" Jacob said.
The staff looked at analyst, waiting for her to reveal him as a liar but she shook her head, "he's sleeping with the boss" she laughed.
Hansen looked between Connie and Jacob with a raised eyebrow, "both of you, my office. Now" he said.
"We can't... We have to err" Jacob said.
"We have a thing" Connie added.
"Yeah and we gotta go... So yeah bye" he said as he got up.
"Very important thing... Very very very very important" Connie said as the couple made a sharp exit from the room.
"So who's next?" The analyst asked.
Everyone shook her heads quickly, backing towards the door, "run!" Cal shouted.
