Blurb: 5/5

I just love this blurb!! It is straight to the point. You use a quote that goes beautifully with your title and you keep to the theme all the way through whilst giving the reader a clear insight into what your poetry collection is all about. Fabulous work. Beautifully written and I was excited to dive right in! I have no pointers here at all! You've nailed it!

Grammar: 4/5

I had noticed a couple of grammar hiccups in some poems, I commented on them as I read.

One grammar mistake that I found was in poem number 9 where you wrote "intend", which is a verb but in the context of the line, you need a noun. I understand why you chose this word, as it fits better with the rhyming scheme. However, the correct word is "intent".

Writing Style: 5/5

8. Fabulous imagery used! This poem beautifully layered. I loved the contrast of the girl's youthful, pale beauty and the black clothes she wore that represented her dark feelings inside. Using the white rose to illustrate her beauty was so clever also. Like a wilting flower, the beauty of youth fades away – it is inevitable. Just gorgeous!

9. A lovely flowing rhyming scheme. You describe the scenes within this poem holistically. You describe what the wolf looks like so vividly as well as the girl's emotions. Such a moving piece!

10. Beautifully vivid descriptions of a feared dark fantasy figure. Appropriate comparisons to help paint the picture of what she looks like.

11. This poem moves fluidly, the rhyming scheme works incredibly well and I loved how you brought it to a close by referring to the title of the piece. Lines in this poem grabbed me from the page!

"The dark violet eyes of hers,

Were empty inside."

Incredible word order used! It seemed as though you were holding back the harsh truth within that first line then on that second line you push it forward – giving that line more of a clout!

15. Beautiful rhyming scheme. The story was wonderfully laid out – focusing on the lady, then the villagers' suspicions and the lady again with a new perspective! You used a rich choice of wording that gave your poem a classic fairy-tale aesthetic.

16. Just like the previous poem, this also has a classic fairy-tale aesthetic with the way you ordered and laid out the wording! I really appreciate this voice you have chosen to write in, it is gorgeous! You have a knack at choosing words that are a joy to say out loud, which is ideal within poetry.

17. A brilliant piece with a clear start, middle and end. You clearly wrote this poem with a great focus on the flow; a clear rhyming scheme and a clear direction.

Originality: 5/5

8. An incredible picture painted of a young woman battling with grief. This poem flows wonderfully with captivating storytelling. In this poem you take your reader on a journey to a dark, yet beautiful world of grief.

9. Fantastic storytelling again! I love the fantasy elements to this poem. A girl changing into an ice wolf – such a unique idea that really hooked me in from the start! I loved how you explained the girl's story in such a small amount of perfectly chosen words. I felt as though I completely understood her. Impressive work!

10. Now, I adored this one! Another fantasy poem! Describing the spirit of night. Telling the story of how dark her existence truly is. Its hard to find real love when you are feared by all. You balance out her loneliness and vulnerabilities with her dangerous side really well.

11. So sad! A hard hitting account of a girl effected by verbal abuse and neglect. What is said to a child can change how they see the world and themselves drastically! I just wanted to grab her and give her a warm hug! Poor thing!

15. A poem that included such a deep story. It sucked me into a different world and after each line I couldn't wait to read more to discover more of its storyline! With twists and turns, hope and betrayal – you packed so much into such a small word count! You have such an amazing talent!

16. A clever tale told here. That touches on gender stereotypes as well as describing medieval sparring. I got excited when the "scarlet warrior" turned out to be a woman! Not only that, a red head! I always get excited when there's a redheaded heroine involved (I'm a redhead lol)

17. A fast paced poem, written like a short fable. This poem included such a curve ball of a twist – the warrior's decision was not what I expected! Dark and thrilling; you show such interesting characters in such a fleeting piece.

OVERALL: 19/20

A wonderful poetry collection that is, very much, up my street! I love anything to do with fantasy and this poetry book has a wonderful voice and mind-blowing storytelling. The art you included in each chapter perfectly illustrate each poem. I am just obsessed with this book!

Thank you so much for asking me to review this masterpiece of a book, I am certainly planning to read the rest of the poems (and any more updates!)

I hope you found my feedback helpful, sorry that it seems a bit bias, but what can I say? I loved what I saw.
