On our last day, I left a note to Alice saying that I’ll be back bago sumapit ang gabi. I’ve been busy whole week preparing for our little voyage, mostly for her papers. I was originally going to the Headquarters one last time but Aspen informed me that George is in a restaurant along Makati.
Heading toward his table, I slid on the seat in front of him as he turned his shocked face to me. “What a pleasant surprise, Viper.”
I blatantly smiled at him raised my hand at the waitress. I ordered red iced tea and leaned on my elbows on the table. “Is it Viper?”
He regained his composure and calm tone immediately after a few seconds. “I must say I’m quite surprised, Kiel.”
Of course he doesn’t know I’m ‘visiting’ him nor does he know that I knew everything. I’ve had my chip removed few hours at sigurado akong kanina pa aligaga ang mga tauhan nya sa paghahanap sa’kin.
Sa bagay, sya lang naman ang mahilig magpasubaybay sa’kin para malaman kung anong ginagawa ko. I didn’t know why he’s that controlling but now I figured he’s paranoid about everything concerning me.. that someday I’d find out what he’s hiding. Hindi ako magtataka kung alam nya na ring alam ko na ang lahat ngayon.
Wiping the corners of his mouth, he put the tissue over the finished plate. “Did you make up your mind?”
“I’ve never been this sure in my entire life.”
Realization sank in him as he digested what my last words were. The iced tea arrived but it didn’t stop him from talking like a controlling bastard that he is, losing his cool over my decision.
“What do you think you’re doing? You’re throwing away everything for a girl?!”
“I’m not throwing away anything, I’m setting things straight and she has nothing to do with it. I would’ve done it with or without her.”
This decision has nothing to do with Alice, mas magiging madali pa sa’kin kung wala siya pero hindi ako kampanteng iwanan siya kay Andrew. Minding two persons at the same time can be a little complicated lalo na’t hindi alam ni Alice na buhay ang kuya niya.
“Do you realize that you’re betraying the ORG?”
A slight chuckle gave me away. His irritated face made this conversation interesting. “You talking about betrayal seems like an irony to me. We both know who betrayed who first.”
He put his straight face for the second time as the waitress filled his drink, though I could see how off guard he was with what I said. Bandang huli, nagbuntong hininga na lang sya at tumingin sa’kin.
“Pwede kang umalis ng ORG pero hindi mo pwedeng isama si Alice.”
