Hours after she fell asleep, a convulsion occur due to high fever. Or maybe because of what happened earlier.
I took precautions a while ago, buying medicine before it happen. I don’t think she hit her head but she had bruises and few scratches on her knees and arms. I saw a purple patch on her belly.. that fucking bastard.
I’m changing her forehead fever strips and gently stroking her body with towel dripped in ice cold water frequently.
Checking her temperature once in a while..
“Kuya..” She cried few times whenever hallucinations occur.. On those times she’d sit abruptly and I can’t get her to lie down ‘cause she’s murmuring..
“Jelly ace,.. Kuya Jelly ace..” What with a jelly ace?
I’m not having a bad time since I know it’s my fault but what bothers me is.. Drew. He trusted me to look after his sister but I failed. He spent years protecting her.. and I blew it all away.
I don’t know what would be his reaction if.. or if I would say this to him or not..

What adds to my temper was, I kept on messing up every fcking time and I hate it. I knew I messed up the moment Alice saw me the first time. And the ‘Hand incident’, the ‘too near--she felt it’, the ‘fight’.. and now this?
Mistakes after mistakes.. It’s getting on my nerves already.
I felt my phone vibrated on my pocket and picked it up as soon as i saw who's calling. “Ace?”
“Si Alice?”
“She’s okay.” I’m not lying, she’s okay now.

“Out.”
“Pa’no kung—”
“You sounded like a dad, Ace. I said she’s okay.”
Heard a faint laugh, “Okay, just checking.”
“Ahh.. Ace?”
“Oh?”
“Ano yung Jelly ace na sinasabi ni Alice?”
“Favorite nya yun simula nung bata pa kami. Nilalagay nya sa baso tapos lalagyan ng powdered milk.. Teka? Di ba sabi ko sa’yo wag mo kausapin? Ang kulit mo ah?!”
“Hindi ko naman kinakausap. Nagkalagnat yung kapatid mo, tapos nagsasalita.. sabi ‘Kuya, Jelly ace.’ Akala ko alam nya na—”
