“Thank you for choosing British Airways. We have landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The temperature outside is 28C and it's 8:34 am. Please do not unfasten your seatbelts until the plane has stopped moving. And please do not switch on your mobiles, laptops or any electronic devices until you are outside the plane..”
I stared at the window…
It’s good to be back.
When the plane landed, I took my luggage and walked towards airport.
I missed the Philippines.
I was supposedly going in a cab when I noticed that someone was waving at me, just in a peripheral vision. I slightly pulled down my sunglasses to make sure who it is.
I smiled.
As soon as he got near, he tapped my back that led to a brief embrace. “Nice to see you again, Bro. Akala ko hindi ka na uuwi.”
“I thought you’re not gonna fetch me.” But he just smiled at me, turned, and walked towards a black Ford fiesta near us.
Drew must’ve been rich as of now, riding in this kind of car. And I’m staying at his condo for a while.
“Kamusta? Pitong taon ka ring nawala, pare.”
“I’m here two years ago for a vacation, man. What the hell are you talking ‘bout?” I answered.
Tumawa naman sya. “How are the girls there?”
“As good as hell.”
We laughed.
“Ang yabang ng British accent mo a! Penge nga!”
“Gago.” Natatawa kong sabi. Napilitan tuloy akong magtagalog kahit hindi na ‘ko sanay.
“Ang swerte mo do’n no?”
“Nag-aaral ako sa England.”
“LOL! Wag mo kong lokohin.. Ano? Malaki bayad do’n?”
Kunwari nag-isip ako. “Hmm.. Medyo.” Tapos ngumiti ako kay Drew. Ngiting aso. HAHA.
“Bilyonaryo ka na siguro ngayon no? Tangna ka, sabi mo sabay tayong yayaman.”
“Should’ve come with me.”
Both of us had been chosen to migrate by the Org but Drew declined.
