You wanted to at the very least walk them out, if not be the one to fly the Quinjet for them but you knew that after what happened yesterday they weren't about to take you into possibly more danger. Wanda and Natasha knew what you were going to ask and told you to stay put, whoever was staying behind with you would be up shortly to sit with you. Is that why everyone was hanging out with you today, to keep an eye on you? Your heart sunk as you realized how much of a burden you were to them, you begin to wonder what you had to offer them. You didn't have any powers or useful skills as far as fighting was concerned, you could fix computers, bake, hack, and sew that was about it. You knew that they wouldn't see it that way; they thought you were awesome, they loved you and would do anything to protect you, but you felt bad because you really couldn't do the same for them.

You got up from your bed where you were wallowing in your sadness and self-doubt to go back into the closet to change. You did however take a minute to look at yourself in the mirror, you looked so much like your grandmother. You were wearing her prom dress, it was a beautiful shade of pink, baby pink or a pale, soft salmon if you were to guess the exact shade. It had short capped sleeves, a heart-shaped neckline, and a high waist with a wide slightly lighter pink embroidered belt. It had a ballgown skirt, a classic silhouette for the time period and it hit just below your knees with a bubble hem. On your feet, you had on the same shoes she wore to prom as well; a pair of cream-coloured strappy pumps with cute little bows on the front. You remember your grandmother telling you that she swore they used to be white, the colour must have changed with time you surmised but you thought they still looked perfect. You had on a pair of pearl earrings and the necklace Tony gave you, while your hair was all curly and pulled over to the one side with flowers on the other. For your make-up, they had put on mascara, eye-liner, lip gloss, and bronze-rose gold eyeshadow, and a little bit of blush and highlight. You briefly wondered if Wanda and Natasha enjoyed dressing you up like you were a doll or something.

You literally just sat down to take off the shoes when you hear a knock at your door. You call out "I'll be right there" letting out a sigh before getting up to go over and answer the door. You opened the door and were surprised to see that Pietro was the one who ended up staying behind to guard I mean "hang out" with you. You were sure that Bucky or Peter would be the ones to stay, you didn't think it would be the speedster but were happy nonetheless as now you had the opportunity to discuss what happened at the party. Pietro was pretty much thinking the same thing; he wanted to talk to you about the other night, along with a few other things and knew with the Avengers and Loki also gone this would be the perfect opportunity. He was a bit nervous when he came knocking and seeing you all dressed up didn't help at all.

You greet Pietro warmly, but you notice him staring at you all weird and you remembered you were wearing a prom dress. "Oh, this *you point at your outfit* yeah, Wanda and Natasha wanted to see some of my vintage clothes and before I knew what was happening they made me get all dressed up hair, makeup, everything" you laughed nervously, feeling kind of awkward at being so over-dressed. He says you look amazing and asks if they could hang out, go for a walk and talk for a while. You agree and together you took a nice long walk around the Compound. You asked him how he was, he was good and he asked if you were okay considering what happened yesterday but you told him you were fine. He's not buying it and asked again if you were okay, but you didn't really want to talk about it and said again that you were fine. "You can tell me you know, no judgement or whatever. I just want to make sure you're okay" Pietro says placing his hand on the back of your arm making you stop walking. You turn back to look at him, giving a grateful smile saying "I know but really I'm fine", as you gently pull away and start walking again.

You stare up at the night sky watching the dark clouds drift through the even darker sky, catching a glimpse of the moon before it disappeared behind another cloud. You wondered if Loki was looking at the moon right now, or if there was even a moon to be seen in Vanaheim. You wish Loki was here, you needed him to hold you, to tell you it was going to be alright, and prove it by helping you train. You didn't like feeling weak and the only way you saw you could change it was to train more and harder, a lot harder. You didn't want Loki to kill the Beetle per say but you liked the thought of hearing him tell you all the terrible things he was going to do to him for "daring to take what was his". You laugh to yourself, thinking about Loki was fiercely protective of you couldn't help but make you feel better. You liked the idea that you belonged to him and that he belonged to you too, it felt warm and fuzzy having someone special.

"Y/N? Are you listening?" You hear Pietro say and you quickly turned around embarrassed for zoning out and ignoring him. You apologize to him, awkwardly laughing for a second before saying you were lost in thought. You take a step closer giving him a smile while doing your best to maintain eye contact and then asking Pietro what he was saying. You look up at him curiously and Pietro can't help but find that the intelligent and quizzical expression on your face makes you look even more enchanting. He blinks rapidly for a few seconds before looking away, deciding to just skip the small talk and just ask you straight up. "Are you and Loki actually together?" Pietro asks, "Yes? Why did you say it like that?" you try to play it off like it didn't upset but you really didn't like Pietro's tone. "He's the God of Mischief Y/N, how do you know he's being honest with you?" Pietro gets closer, but you remain silent and look down as you felt your anxiety build up inside you. "Do you actually trust him?" Pietro asks and you look up at him with somber eyes as you search his face to see if what he was being serious before nodding your head "yes". "Well I don't, I don't trust him. He's going to break your heart and I don't want to see that happen" he huffed getting really close now, his face only inches from yours. "He would never hurt me, Pietro. Loki loves me... and I love him" you stuttered out doing your best not to tear up as doubt starts to creep into your mind. You start to back away from Pietro but he pulls you in, holding the back of your forearms with his hands. You order Pietro to let you go but he doesn't as he admits his feelings to you, "I love you Y/N, and I will fight for you. I will love and protect you until we are old and grey. Will he?". You try to answer but you're so overwhelmed with anger, sadness and doubt you can't find the words. You froze up on the spot and felt panic starting to set in as you realized he was leaning in to kiss you.
