"We're not ready yet!" Wanda yells at Tony through the door of your room, you, her, and Natasha were still getting ready, although, in all honesty, you were just getting ready now. You were chatting about this and that, losing track of time, it was kind of funny actually, as you were so focused on wanting to look your best and suddenly you get sidetracked by one little thing and the next thing you know it's been 2 hours. You all rushed around putting on your dresses while you work together to help each other with make-up and hair. At some point Natasha just messaged Tony, saying they'd meet him there, as they'd still be another 20 minutes at least. You could hear when Tony read the message, as he let out a groan in frustration, one that was loud enough to be heard through the door and you all let out a laugh.

You hurried out the door, heading over to the garage to find something to drive into New York with, deciding to "borrow" one of Tony's rides; a red Chevy Corvette C8 with butterfly doors. You wanted to drive but Natasha pulled out a pair of sunglasses saying she would be driving as she put them on, only to take them off two seconds later as it was a little too dark out to be wearing a pair of shades. You were excited to be with your girls but you had to admit you were a little sad when Loki popped by earlier saying he had to rush off to Asgard for one last thing and would meet you at the party. You wondered what could be so important that he had to suddenly leave but you tried not to dwell on it, as you were going to have a great time tonight with your friends and family.

You arrive and the valet quickly takes the car, but before going inside something from across the street catches your eye and you stop, just staring for a moment before Natasha and Wanda drag you off to the party. You perked up a bit when you spotted Thor, hoping Loki would be with him but your heart sank a little when you realized he wasn't with his brother or even at the party yet. You didn't feel much like partying, and you went over to the bar to grab a drink, making sure this bartender knew you wanted an iced tea with little ice and extra lemon not a long-island iced tea with little ice and extra lemon. You just sat there at the end of the bar feeling rather melancholy as you slowly drank your iced tea, your mood only changing to annoyance as a couple of guys came over to hit on you.

They ask you what you, a beautiful lady was doing all by her lonesome, and not being in any mood to deal with others you respectfully informed them that you were seeing someone. You go on to explain that you were waiting for them before politely excusing yourself as you wanted to be alone until Loki arrived, and you headed off to another empty spot. These guys didn't seem to take the hint even though you literally spelled it out for them as they followed you over to your new spot asking to dance and or get you a drink. You tell them to leave you alone or else, completely done with these idiots, and when they leaned in real smug-like asking what you could possibly do, you raise your hand summoning your fire. Your flames soon encased your entire forearm and they back off, literally holding up their arms out in a defensive position, backing up from you before running away with their tails between their legs.

You let out a huff in irritation, glaring off into the distance before you got up and walked over to the bar, getting a refill, making sure this one had alcohol as you didn't think you'd get through the night without it. You take your drink and head outside to the balcony where no one was as it was the middle of winter, ice-cold and snowing lightly. You didn't mind though, as you couldn't really feel the cold anymore, or more accurately you could feel the change in temperature but it didn't affect you in the slightest. You had gotten used to your new self for the most part but there were some days you felt so alien in your own skin, so different from everyone around you, and right now was one of those times. You couldn't help but look down at the street below, observing all the people walking by, knowing they would age and grow but you wouldn't, you were stuck now, watching as time moved on without you.

You fought yourself on whether or not you should just leave, as right now all you wanted to do was curl up underneath your blankets, in your sweatpants and tank top, and watch Lord of the Rings by yourself. You didn't really care about New Year's Eve, not like it even mattered, a new year meant nothing to you, as you felt yourself slowly sink further into depression, growing more numb and cold like the world around you. You decided to take a short flight over the city to clear your head, popping back inside for a moment to let someone know where you were at, just in case Loki arrived before you returned. The first Avenger you spotted was Vision, and you didn't waste any time going right up to him and informing him that you would be stepping away for a few minutes but should be back shortly. You told him you shouldn't be gone for more than 30 minutes or so, asking him to inform Loki if he got there before you came back, and Vision agreed so you thanked him as you took off from the party.

You stepped out onto the balcony again, walking over to stand on the edge, taking a second to make sure no one was watching as you jumped off of the building. You let yourself drop for a few seconds, enjoying the rush of falling before summoning your wings and taking off into the darkening sky. You did your best to stay out of sight as you didn't want to scare anyone, ending up flying higher and higher above the city, not knowing where you were going or if you were going anywhere at all. You ended up flying so high you could clearly see the curvature of the Earth, you were just floating above the clouds watching them roll like waves over the sky, as the sun slowly sunk out of sight.
