Harnessing the power of thunder and lightning, Qu WeiYin wielded her spiritual energy, her Crescent Moon Star Sword crackling as she slashed toward Qu Chengzhou. He leapt back just in time to narrowly avoid the blow.

"WeiYin, do you truly intend to oppose me?" Qu Chengzhou gritted his teeth, regaining his stance with his sword.

"Elder Qu, you jest. This is merely what must be done. My father was the head; if you wish to take his place, you have to defeat me first," Qu WeiYin retorted, retrieving her sword and gliding across the ground like a fiery dragon, aiming for Qu Chengzhou's face.

Seeing this, Qu Chengzhou conjured a barrier with his left hand and unleashed a whirlwind of spiritual energy blades with his right, enclosing Qu WeiYin. She spun gracefully, her robes unfurling like a blossoming flower, deftly evading the blades without a scratch.

"He's dead!" Qu Chengzhou's eyes blazed with fury.

"You know how he died!" Qu WeiYin's anger was palpable, her flames nearly scorching the earth. "Aren’t you afraid of divine retribution for even mentioning him?"

Qu Chengzhou's gaze darkened further, his high brow giving him the look of a predatory bird. "I don’t know what you’re talking about," he replied, his tone flat.

Revulsion churned in Qu WeiYin’s stomach, and she wasted no more words, continuing her assault. The courtyard was in chaos, plants reduced to ash under her fiery onslaught.

Despite his years, Qu Chengzhou matched her closely in cultivation, resulting in a stalemate. Yet, fueled by hatred, Qu WeiYin attacked with relentless ferocity, forcing Qu Chengzhou into retreat as his stamina waned.

Realizing his disadvantage, Qu Chengzhou whistled sharply. A massive golden eagle descended, its wings a gleaming shield, its beak like a bow. The shadow it cast darkened the courtyard further.

Seeing the eagle, Luo JinXiao stood up, concern etched on her face.

The crowd gasped, retreating further. Qu Chengzhou's golden eagle was a formidable beast, capable of creating tempests with its wings and crushing rocks with its beak.

The eagle swooped low, its talons gouging the earth, beak aimed at Qu WeiYin.

Sensing danger, Qu WeiYin twisted her waist, narrowly dodging. Her strikes were deflected by the eagle's armored feathers.

"Elder Qu, isn’t this bullying?" Luo JinXiao shouted, already at odds with him, she had nothing to lose.

"It's just a spirit beast; how is that bullying?" Qu Chengzhou replied, hands behind his back, indifferent.

Shameless, Luo JinXiao thought, anger boiling beneath her calm exterior. Watching Qu WeiYin struggle against the eagle, she clenched her clothes tightly, anxious to help but fearing she'd only hinder.

The eagle's tail suddenly lashed out, its talons grazing Qu WeiYin's shoulder, drawing blood. She immediately soared upward with her sword, continuously dodging in mid-air.

Seeing her injured, Luo JinXiao abandoned caution, pulling QiongQi from her pouch. "Sweetie, help Little Martial Aunt," she pleaded, frowning.

QiongQi glanced at Qu WeiYin, its fluffy eyes blinking with reluctance.

"Help her, she’s hurt," Luo JinXiao coaxed, rubbing QiongQi’s belly.
