The amplified voice echoed across the circular stage as someone brought forth a spirit sword. All eyes were fixated on the center of the arena, but Luo Jinxiao quietly rose from her seat, crouching low as she attempted to slip away.Tang Lan’er grabbed her arm, whispering, “Hey, where are you going?”
“I’m looking for someone,” Luo Jinxiao replied in a hushed tone as she continued to back away.
Tang Lan’er wanted to follow her but was quickly stopped by someone from the White Moon Sect, who urged her to stay put. When she looked up again, Luo Jinxiao had already vanished from sight.
The first few treasures were bought with silver and didn’t require any contests, so the proceedings moved quickly. Luo Jinxiao wandered around slowly, continually searching for Qu Weiyin’s figure.
However, the place was sprawling, and she hadn’t even seen a trace of Wuhui Sect’s green robes.
Halfway into her search, a group of hurried individuals nearly collided with her. Reacting quickly, Luo Jinxiao stepped back, pressing her body against the wall to let them pass.
To her surprise, when they reached her side, they abruptly halted. A portly man with a round face stepped forward, grabbing her arm and panting heavily. “Lady Li, why did you run here? We’ve been searching high and low for you!”
Luo Jinxiao was taken aback. Pointing to herself, she began to say, “You must have mistaken me; I’m not…”
Before she could finish her sentence, the man was already dragging her forward, chattering excitedly, “Hey, the silver we owe you will be handed over in full! It’s just that Qu Weiyin has come! She may be a little fierce, but she won’t hurt you. If she comes to snatch the treasures, just yield, okay?”
Upon hearing Qu Weiyin's name, Luo Jinxiao fell silent, eager to see what these people intended to do.
The man continued to pull her into a dimly lit room guarded by several individuals. He quickly handed her a fairly well-preserved spirit fan and urged, “Take this and go up there. Only those who can defeat you will qualify to seize the treasures. Just do your best and try not to mess anything up.”
Luo Jinxiao glanced around and noticed that everyone guarding the room was dressed in black clothing with their faces covered, leaving her in her veil. No wonder they mistook her for some 'Lady Li.'
But then a thought crossed her mind: since Qu Weiyin was here, once she went up, she would surely recognize her. That would naturally lead her to find her.
With that in mind, she didn’t say much more, allowing the group to pull her along to the stage.
As Luo Jinxiao appeared in the center of the circular arena holding the fan, both Tang Lan’er and Qiongqi nearly jumped out of their seats. Tang Lan’er nudged Qiongqi, exclaiming, “Quick, take a look! Is that Luo Jinxiao?”
Qiongqi didn’t need to look closely; just the scent was enough. Nodding eagerly, it stood up and prepared to rush forward, but Tang Lan’er grabbed hold of it, nearly being pulled off balance by its strength.
“Hey! She looks like a little girl, but how does she have such immense strength?” Tang Lan’er exclaimed, using all limbs to hold onto Qiongqi, clutching the edge of her seat tightly.
“Are you silly? She’s not in danger; you can’t jump up there right now!” Tang Lan’er huffed as she struggled to hold onto Qiongqi, who remained determinedly standing there, gazing at her in confusion.
From her position on stage, Luo Jinxiao couldn’t clearly see the crowd below; she remained stationary as someone announced loudly, “This fan is called the Gale Fan, made from Xuan jade with a wingspan of cicada wings. It’s a rare spirit weapon!”
