Qiongqi instinctively moved to protect Luo Jinxiao, lifting its leg as if to bite at the man's neck. Luo Jinxiao quickly pressed her hand down on Qiongqi’s head and exchanged a knowing wink with it.

“Move!” the man shouted again, forcefully dragging her outside. Luo Jinxiao found the situation amusing and made no effort to resist as she followed him out.

“Tang, Tang Young Sect Master! I advise you to be reasonable and hand over the invitation card you stole from us!” the man demanded as they stepped into the street.

Hearing his words, Luo Jinxiao’s expression turned to one of surprise. Leading the White Moon Sect was none other than Tang Lan’er! Even after five years, she showed no significant change; her features were still exquisite, and the layers of golden-threaded jade pieces at her waist accentuated her slim figure, radiating an air of nobility.

Tang Lan’er, wielding her sword, angrily pointed at them and said, “Does the Life and Death Sect have no shame? If you can’t defeat me, do you resort to threatening innocent people? Haven’t you realized how tarnished your reputation in the martial world has become over the past few years?”

“So what? I won’t kill her, but if you refuse to hand over the invitation, I’ll shave off all her hair! Can you bear to watch her lovely dark hair be destroyed?" the man replied as he pressed the blade against Luo Jinxiao’s neck.

Luo Jinxiao couldn’t believe he meant that and nearly rolled her eyes in exasperation.

“The treasure exchange has started, hurry up!” the man insisted.

“It was the agreement of the Celestial Alliance to confiscate your invitation cards to prevent you from entering. I absolutely cannot return it to you!” Tang Lan’er shot back angrily.

Seeing her attitude, the man became enraged. With a swift swing, he aimed to intimidate her, but before he could act, the previously motionless woman in black suddenly raised her hand and snapped her fingers at the knife in his grasp.

In that instant of distraction, the blade transformed into iron powder, cascading to the ground.

Tang Lan’er seized the moment, stepping forward to pull Luo Jinxiao behind her while brandishing her sword. The remaining disciples from the Life and Death Sect surged forward as both sides were pulled into a chaotic melee, fighting fiercely.

Luo Jinxiao took a step back, brushing off her sleeves as she watched the chaos from a safe distance. She caught someone who was running slower, tilted her head, and asked, “This fellow cultivator, may I inquire if it’s absolutely necessary to have an invitation to enter the treasure exchange?”

The disciple from the White Moon Sect ceased fighting and stood chatting with Luo Jinxiao. “That’s right. In previous years, anyone could enter freely, but there are always those who cause trouble when they can’t get their hands on a treasure. This year, they’ve wised up and only released a limited number of invitation cards. Any sect that has caused disturbances in the past or lacks celestial lineage is forbidden from entering.”

Luo Jinxiao nodded, internally noting that without an invitation, she wouldn’t be able to enter and that made her chances of finding her Master Uncle much slimmer.

She glanced at Tang Lan’er, who was currently engaged in combat, and her thoughts stirred. She turned back to the White Moon Sect disciple and asked, “Does your Young Sect Master have any spare invitation cards? She’s a Young Sect Master; surely she can take someone in.”

“Well, she might be able to, but the Young Sect Master can be quite willful and difficult to negotiate with,” the disciple replied with a shake of his head.
