Without waiting for Qu WeiYin's response, Luo JinXiao quickly ducked into the doorway.

Qu WeiYin couldn't react in time, only catching a glimpse of her clothing before it disappeared entirely, with QiongQi nimbly following suit.

Qu WeiYin wiped her face, brushing away the rising warmth, and remained at the door, heart on edge.

Inside was a short, dark passageway. Luo JinXiao didn't dare use her spiritual energy, relying instead on her senses to cautiously inch forward. QiongQi followed closely, timidly, not daring to peek ahead.

Luo JinXiao looked down at QiongQi with disdain. A fierce beast, yet not behaving like one at all.

After a few steps, she came to an iron door, locked with a heavy padlock. Her movement alerted the people inside, though they seemed bound and unable to move.

Luo JinXiao guessed the lock was made from Xuan iron, impossible to open without a key.

She thought for a moment, then tapped QiongQi, nudging her to the door.

With a crunch, the girl bit through the lock, spitting it out disdainfully.

Luo JinXiao gaped in shock but patted QiongQi approvingly, pushing the door open. Inside, a slanted skylight offered enough light to reveal two disheveled figures on the floor, a man and a woman, clearly having suffered.

Besides them, another figure lay in the corner, more agile. Upon seeing Luo JinXiao, they lunged, mouth open to bite.

Luo JinXiao quickly stepped back, avoiding the bite to her ankle.

"Shh, I'm here to save you," Luo JinXiao said, clamping a hand over their mouth and pressing them to the ground. Seeing their continued struggle, she pinned them down firmly.

"Behave if you want to live," she whispered fiercely.

The tactic worked, and the person stilled, tense but obedient.

Luo JinXiao had QiongQi carry the Wu Hui Sect disciples first. She dragged the remaining one toward the door, but as soon as QiongQi exited with someone, the situation outside changed dramatically.

Powerful demonic energy surged through the narrow passageway. Luo JinXiao quickly conjured a shield of ice with her spiritual energy to block it.

This demonic energy was stronger than anything she had encountered before. Sweat trickled down her brow, and the cramped space offered no room to retreat or evade.

"Luo JinXiao, get out now!" Qu WeiYin's voice came from outside, cold yet tinged with urgency. Few things could fluster her like this. Luo JinXiao's heart tightened, and she gritted her teeth, dragging the person with her as she charged out.

Qu WeiYin stood protectively before the injured Wu Hui Sect disciples, hair flying, eyes fierce. One hand held a massive fireball, the other her Crescent Moon Star Sword, crackling with electricity as it struck at the figure before her.

The figure, barely human, had a face etched with lines like a withered old man, his hair sleek and long. Demonic energy engulfed him, spewing from his ears and nose.
