"You're a natural with the audience." Deep praised as we went over to the snack bar.

"Thanks. You got your facial expressions on point, dude. You gotta teach me." I laughed.
"I mean, how did you manage to keep a straight face when I said 'animals are like our roommates' ?" I tried too hard not to laugh. That phrasing is just too silly." I said and chuckled.

"Believe me, I've said more silly stuff than you can imagine." He smiled and chuckled.

"Well, I'm sure we'll be seeing each other at the Tower. I gotta get going." I said and grabbed a muffin off the table.

"Sure. See you later, bro." He said and stuffed his face with food.

On my way back, I thought about how I would tell John about the interview while also explaining the way I acted. I'm sure he'd think of it as flirting or something other that it's not.
My thoughts were cut short when my phone buzzed.

And a message from John plopped up:

*What was that about??*

*I'm coming back right now! We're talking about this in person.* I rushed out and added a teasing *I love you old man, don't you forget that ;)*

As soon as I got out of the car, I scooped up and felt the air hit me from all angles.
"That's one way to greet me." I said and made kissy sounds at John.

"You wanted to talk." He said sternly.

"And you chose to do that in the sky. Am I supposed to be scared?" I teased and held onto him a bit more.

"Maybe." He teased back and loosened his grip on me.

"This is getting me way too excited." I said, and he licked his teeth.
"I wanted to tell you that the interview was to get my ratings up. Having a sort of friendship with another team member is like really good, I guess. So, no worries. I only like you." I explained and could feel the tension leave him.

"Good. Thank you for clarifying." He sighed and smiled. Then he gave me a kiss on my head.

He landed us in the apartment where we sat down for lunch.
