Walking by the meeting room I couldn't help but pause. Trying to hear what was going on behind the heavy doors.
"Red Canary is too dangerous." A guy said.

"But the people love #redlander! There's no denying it." A woman argued.

"There's a reason y/n doesn't have a big crime fighting backround." Another person said.

"That's Red Canary to you." Homelander reminded. "And I assure you that there is no need to worry."

"Queen Maeve says Red Canary attacked her!" The first guy argued.

"#bravemaeve isn't trending hard anymore. Maybe she just missed the attention." The woman tried to explain.

"This isn't about ratings or Hashags, Jennifer." Guy 2 insisted.

"You are repeating yourselves!" Homelander snapped. "This isn't getting us anywhere." He sounded frustrated.

"What do you think we should do, sir?" Guy 1 asked.

"Do I look like fucking Jesus to you? I don't know!" He yelled angrily. "Get your heads together and figure this out." He huffed and I could hear his chair pushing out.

I quickly made my way down the hallway and was greeted by Black Noir.
"Hey! Noir! Good seeing you." I sighed.
He retrieved his noteblock and wrote on it. "Everything ok?"

"Yeah. Sure. And how are you doing?"

"You seem stressed."

"I said I'm fine." I stated and earned a quick nod from him. "Anyway. I'll see you around." I said and kept walking.

My phone buzzed, which made me stop and look at it.
It was from Homelander:
"We're getting hot chocolate later, dress nicely."

"I always dress nicely." I replied and stuffed my phone back where it had been before.
Continuing my way down the hallway, I was interrupted by Deep who appeared next to me.
"Hey Red! About the-" I stopped him.

"No. I don't want to hear about it. I want to pretend I didn't witness any of that."  Commenting, I left him standing behind me.

"I thought you'd understand." He sighed sadly. I stopped and angrily walked back to him.

"Oh I do Deep, I understand just fine." Hope sparkled in his eyes.
"I just think its disgusting. Your interspecial beastiality sickens me. Really. And to think your lips -hurg* and my -ehurg* I can't even say it." I said trying hard not to vomit.
"I don't want to hear another word out of your fish-cunt licking mouth."

"But I thought-"

"Well you thought wrong!" I exclaimed loudly. "Listen close, you will never talk to me about what you do with any kind of aquatic life besides save it." I told him and as his mind clouded his stupid smile crawled back onto his face.

"Oh hey, Red!" He greeted happily.

"Hi. Look, I'm actually reaaaly busy, Deep. I gotta go. Catch ya later." I said and hurried past him while he still gave his salutations.

I thought I was able to get to the apartment without running into any other people. But I thought wrong. Ashley blocked my way, appearing like a wild pokèmon in the high gras.
"Fuck. Why are you standing around like that!" I exhaled irritated.

Ashley seemed a bit shocked at my words as she didn't manage to utter any coherent words.
"Speak. Ashley." I demanded.

"I was just.... just walking down the hall." She stammered and looked back down the way she came.
I groaned and pushed her aside.

"What is your problem??" I heard a rather annoying and familiar voice question behind me. I had noticed Starlights presence but didn't care to acknowledge it.
"Mind your own damn business." I hissed, not sparring a single glance.

"I believe you harrassing a coworker is part of my business." She said sternly and I stopped.

Laughing at her I turned to meet her already glowing eyes. "A coworker? Ashley is a damn maid at best." I kept laughing and watched as her hands began to glow as well. "What are you gonna do? Make some lights explode? Try 'n blind me with your divine light? Get lost loser." I said smugly and turned back around. Her beam missed me and I flipped her off while continuing my way down.
