The nameless people surrounding us shifted from one foot to the other.
"Isn't anyone gonna answer that question?" Homelander inquired.
"We were waiting for you. We hope everything went well with the child." Someone proposed.
"And why is that something y'all have to gawk at?" I taunted. "Any good reason?"
"The kid is fine. We did some Q&As afterward, like we were asked to." Homelander chided.
"Oh thank fuck." Ashley let out.
Homelander's face, which had already looked annoyed as shit dropped even further. "Thank fuck. Ashley. Really?" He demanded. This time he was to the one to pounce on her. Pushing her forcefully. She stumbled and used one of the bystanders as a fall breaker.
Her eyes went wide with shock as the redness leaked from her face.
"You better start thinking before you speak. Otherwise we'll have a problem." Homelander forewarned.Ashley opened her mouth but Homelander gave her a look that made her rethink. She shut her mouth and guestured for someone else to talk.
"Mr. Homelander, sir." A pudy guy trembled as he stepped forward.
"Your ratings have gone through the roof. And so have Red Canary's. The people love how you advocated for the hospital staff." He said and glanced over to me."Great. Finally, some good news." Homelander sighed and walked towards the nameless guy. He patted his shoulder and gave a toothy smile, and returned to my side.
"Where do you wanna go?" I asked him and smiled as we locked arms.
"Wherever you want to." He answered as we walked out.
