Back on the couch of my apartment, I heard a knock, the weight, the heels. Ashley.
I didn't reply. There is no way I would talk to her right now. I just wanted peace and quiet.

She opened the door and I shot her a look. "You should get the fuck out and not show your face unless it's necessary." I told her using my powers. She exited as swiftly as she had entered and didn't seem to return.

With a wosh and a blast of air, Homelander landed in the living area.
"Y/n! I heard you paid the PR fools a visit. I am so glad that you're starting to use your potential." He said as he walked over to me.

We kissed, and I smiled up at him. "Thank you for showing me. On that topic, John, I think we should talk. Maybe over a hot chocolate?" I said and hugged onto him.

"Anything to worry about?" He laughed but seemed a bit irritated.

"Not at all. Quite the opposite, actually." I said after thinking a little bit about the topic I had in mind.

Once at our spot, I thought about how to put my thoughts out into words without seeming too eager.

"After the PR 'meeting,' I was called into Edgar's office." I started, and John's smile faltered. "I don't know how to put this without sounding too radical. But I want him gone. He is trying to keep us down."

"You want to take down Edgar? Am I understanding you correctly, my love bird?" John asked seriously.
"The man who created me in a lab. The guy who has tried and mostly succeded in keeping me on a leash. That Stan Edgar, you want to take down?"

I didn't dare speak up, so instead, I just nodded.

Homelander burst out laughing, not just a small short chuckle but full-blown maniacal laughter.
