His hands were sweaty, he breathed a little harder than usual and his cheeks burned crimson.
"Yes." I heard the words before I could process to speak them.
"You will!" He yelled and jumped back onto both of his feet, hugging me tightly.
"Oh OH THE RING! Wait. Wait!" He said hurridly and pulled a small box out of his pocket.
He gently took my hand and slipped the ring onto the corresponding finger.
"Yes." I muttered and looked at the sparkling ring.
"We're getting married!" He said eagerly.
"We're engaged." I said and my vision started to blurr. Tears pushed down my cheeks.
"What is wrong, y/n? Why are you crying!" John asked worried. "Don't you want to marry me?" He questioned.
"Of course I want to! Yes. A million times yes!" I exclaimed. "I'm just so happy!"
I held onto him tightly and tried to calm down but it was no use.
We enjoyed our hot chocolate as well as the time we shared.
When nighttime fell John flew us up onto the Eiffel tower and we looked at the stars, before the sun rose he had flown us back to our own tower.
The sun rose and my eyes opened, looking over to a sleeping but still smiling John. Our peace was interrupted by Starlight who broke open the door and started yelling.
Without a second to talk Homelander blinked a laser into her direction, he hit her cape. While he sank back down I stared at Starlight, her cape already engulfed in flames as she screamed in agony.
"We are gods." He stated.
"We do whatever the fuck we want." I added and he smirked.
Starlight burned to a crisp, the screams alerting both A-Train and Noir.
"Yo WHAT THE FUCK!" A-Train yelled and puked next to 'fried-light'. Noir stoos still, holding eye-contact with Homelander who held his head high.
"Are you with us?" I asked and Noir nodded. A-Train was groaning, puking and fighting for air.
"What about you, A-Train?" I asked again, a bit more impatient now.
"What." He breathed out. "Yes. YES fuck. Of course." He choked out.
"You're on thin ice." Homelander said, eyes narrow. "Clean yourself up. We've got a meeting in 5."
They both fled the room, leaving 'fried-light' without so much as a glance in her direction.
John texted maintanance concerning a deep clean, then we left the apartment.
Ashley stood in her corner while the remainder of the seven sat at their respected seats. "Good to see everyone. We have some biiig news to share." Homelander announced.
Maeve frowned, "Yeah. So we heard." She said very stoic. "Tek Knight... another disturbance gone." She added.
"Oh?" Homelander cocked an eyebrow.
Ashley put on the news, revealing that Tek Knight had been declared dead earlier that day.
"Ooh." I sighed. "Anyway. We have better news!"
"We are engaged!" Homelander said happily. "Sorry, love. I'm just so excited!" He said and hugged me.
Ashley's mouth dropped, Meave let out a sound of disgust and dissaproval which gained my immeadiat attention.
"You know. If you don't have anything nice to say. Its always best to shut the fuck up."
"Great news!! We're so happy for you!" Ashley squealed out awkwardly.
"Thank you. At least ome of you got manners." Homelander sighed.
"Red! That is great you guys!" Deep chirped. "When's the wedding?" He asked happily.
"No dates yet. But, we'll keep you posted." Homelander answered.
"So where's Starlight?" Maeve asked.
"Not here." A-Train jumped in.
"I can see that. You numb-nut." She countered.
"If you wanna know so badly, why don't you go look for her." A-Train hissed.
Without another complaint Maeve exited the room.
"Noir, why don't you go help Maeve find her way?" Homelander questioned to which Noir simply nodded and followed Maeve.
"Sooo, what are we planing fot the wedding? Beach? Or maybe a simple cottage, going back to the roots? Or maybe-" Ashley was cut short.
"A little Chapel. No reporters. Just us and ...our friends." Homelander sighed.
"Perfect." I sighed and held onto Homelander tighter.
Noir returned, is black suit hid the blood but his mask didn't.
He gave John a thumbs up which was followed by Ashley making a confused noise.
"What...?" She asked.
"None of your concern." I said and she shut her mouth tightly.
"So... no more maeve then, huh?" Deep asked quietly.
"Correct."
"Alright." He said and nodded, his puls quickening.
"Nothing to worry. Unless you think otherwise." I stated.
"No. No, not at all. Maeve gone? Great, sje was such a party pooper!" Deep laughed nervous.
They feared us. Feared what we might do to them if they missstepped. We got married, together we were unstoppable, shaping the world into what it was always meant to be.
A world that kneeled down before us, filled with people who worship the very air we breathe.
