"I want to watch the sunset with you." I replied hesitantly.

"Your wish is my command, my love." He answered happily.

Arm in arm, we walked back to our apartment.
We were almost at the door when suddenly Black Noir emerged from behind a pillar.

"Fuck man. You need to breathe more loudly. What the hell are you doing, lurking in the shadows like that." I wheezed and clutched Homelander.

He put up his hands as to say sorry and retrieved some documents from out of nowhere. (Asscrack Paper)

"Very good, Black Noir." Homelander said and took the documents, putting them into the abyss. (Asscrack paper pocket)

Black Noir nodded and waved to me as he made his way back into the wall or wherever he had previously emerged from.

Homelander didn't comment on the documents any further. Instead, we continued our way to the apartment.
"Would it be okay if we watched the sunsnet some other time, my love bird? There is something I need to take care of." John asked and held my hands in his. The gloves felt cold, and his icy blue eyes stared into my soul, yet the toothy smile that appeared on his face melted the lump of disappointment.
"Of course, my love." I nodded. There will be other sunsets for us to see, I'm sure of it." I voiced.

"You're the best." He sighed and kissed me longingly.

"I know." I surmised and with that, he left the apartment.
