We stayed cuddled up like that for a while until he coughed and pulled himself off the ground.
"I don't know what's gotten into me." He huffed and looked around the room.
When I tried to touch his hand, he avoided my touch. "You used your powers on me." He said hoarse. "I don't want you around me, not for a while." He said, and his words felt like a punch in the gut. "I think you should go... I'll sleep on the couch." He added.

"Don't bother. I'll crash at Deep's." I said plainly and left the apartment.

"Y/n." He sighed quietly, but I didn't look back.

My heart felt heavy. It seemed as if I had been impaled by his words, the look on his face, the hurt in his voice. As I made my way to Deep's apartment, I felt tears rushing down my eyes.
Without knocking, I entered the apartment and found Deep, dick inside the aquarium two fish and Ambrosia surrounding him.
I let out a cry of mixed emotions. "What. What the fuck man. You fishfucker." I yelled and turned back around. I could hear him curse behind me and zip his costume. "Don't you dare run after me! And if you think of ever placing even a single finger on me, I will make you rip your eardrums out!" I screamed without looking back.

Crying, screaming, I made my way through the hallway until I decided on my next destination. With that in mind, I entered the elevator and waited for the doors to open. Blinded by rage, I strutted past the security guard. The doors to Stan Edgars office flew open, and he jumped from his chair. "Sit!"
I approached his desk and leaned forward. "You will listen to me, and you will do as I say." I told him. He was already deep in my tranze as I spoke to him.
"You're gonna take this pen and write a letter explaining how the pressure of running the biggest pharmaceutical company and superhero business is too much for an old man like yourself. Once that's done, you're gonna take that letter opener and ram it onto your wrinkly heart."
Without a word, he started writing, and soon enough, he took hold of the opener and did as he was told. I waited for his weezing to stop before I exited the room.

"Stan Edgar has committed suicide. And you were the first to find him. He acted normal, maybe a bit more stressed, but when you knocked to check on him, he didn't answer." I told the security guard, and he went over to the office. As I left, I could hear him scream into his walkie-talkie. The elevator doors closed, and I could hear paniced movement replacing routine.
I exited the elevator and made my way towards the meeting room.
I took my seat and waited. Soon enough, Homelander rushed in but paused when he saw me at the table.
"Is this your doing?" He asked as he made his way over to me with slow, deliberate steps.

"Take a guess, pretty boy." I said, eyes narrow but head held high.

He walked toward his chair and sat down, brushing his cape to the side in the process. He averted his gaze as A-Train entered, followed by the rest of the Seven.
"I suppose you all have heard the news by now." Homelander stated.
"Stan Edgar is dead." He paused.

"You might be thinking,'what will we do now? Who will pay us?' Fear not dear fellow supes. Homelander is here to guide you as captain of the seven. All none hero related things will be handled by Ms. barrett as new CEO of Vought pharmaceuticals." I explained and watched their different reactions.
Confusion, anger, disbelief.

"So, no mayor changes?" Deep asked, which sparked a debate whether Homelander should be the one, really in charge, and if Ashley was the best choice considering... that she's Ashley.

"I believe this to be the best possible outcome." I said using my powers. "And so should all of you." I directed at everyone except Homelander.
They nodded in agreement, and I looked over to Homelander.

"You're dismissed until further notice." He said, and the rest of the seven left.
I remained seated, eyes focused on John as he turned in his swivel chair, knuckles resting against his cheek.
"Homelander will guide you. Am I jesus?" He huffed. "What the fuck birdy."

"Back to nicknames huh?"

"What were you thinking? Killing Stan Edgar?" He shook his head.

"I was sick of it. Sick of everything, everyone." I said and frowned.
"First that disgusting Tek knight, then the whole situation between us and deep fucking his fish. I can't do this shit anymore. What the hell is wrong with everyone."

"Wait a second. Tek knight?" Homelander questioned.

"It's his USB. I'm sure of it. He acted really suspiciously and asked me some questions." I explained.

"He did what?"

"Hmh? Asked me some questions, what I was doing on the roof and what I had to do with the dead guy, if I found anything. Blah Blah."

"Okay so wait. That perverted asshole interrogated you? And you didn't tell me!" Homelander stood from his chair, cape swinging behind him as he made his way to the door.

"Where are you going?" I asked and stood from my own chair.

"Just gonna go ahead and ask Bob, who he thinks he is. Interogating my partner like that." He hissed and left.
