when derek gets hurt all he cares about is you.
as you sit besides him as he lays at home after melissa mccall had stitched him up, he couldn't help but stare at you as he admires just how beautiful you are.
"i'm sorry, y/n." he said quietly.
"for what?" you asked, reaching out and taking hold of his hand.
"for getting hurt... i just wanted to protect you." he admitted.
"derek... i know you worry about me but i don't want you getting hurt just for me." you replied sadly.
"i do it because i love you, y/n. if anything were to happen to you i don't know what i would do. i have to protect this town from the supernatural creatures that plague it, but my only thought when i'm out there is you." he said, placing his other hand over yours gently.
you let out a sigh, "i know... and i love you too derek... just try and be more careful now okay?"
"okay." his lips curved into a slight smile, as long as you were safe he didn't care about anything else.
