after finally defeating the beast, marie could finally carry on with her life with you.
"come back to bed, my love." you said softly, watching her staring out of the window.
"i'm sorry, i was just checking... i heard a noise outside and thought—" she stopped herself, knowing she was worrying too much.
"we're safe now, i promise. you saved us, all of us." you said, trying to reassure her.
she simply smiled as she crawled back into bed, wrapping her arms around you as her hair fell onto your chest, "je t'aime."
"i love you too, ma chérie ." you whispered, pressing a kiss against her forehead before you both fell asleep in each other's arms.
