LONGSUFFERING AMBASSADORS OF HOPE or FIERY GRIM-REAPERS OF HELL?

-How the "turn or burn Gospel" (along with its preachers) is a false message and a twisted, contradiction in displaying the character of God

"Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." ~II Corinthians 5:18‭-‬21

I am saddened (and a little sickened, honestly) whenever I hear or see the Gospel falsely portrayed as only "repent or burn in Hell". Such people who call themselves Christians, followers of Christ, presume that, though God's heart and call for the lost is repentance rather than imputting (laying a charge of guilt) their sins against them, they can go ahead and testify contrary to His heart and proclaim a different call. Such people justify themselves and reason that "truth is naturally offensive" and "even Jesus used a whip of cords to drive people out of the Temple, so we too shall go and do likewise." Such people display their ignorance of God's Word for if they had truly read and studied it, they would've seen that God is most hard on those that are His own people, who are called by His Name, who ought to know better, than He is with the unbelieving, lost Gentile world; because they are the example He chose to set forth and destined to be as the humble hope and light of the world.

"To the others the Lord said in my hearing, “Go after him through the city and kill; do not let your eye spare, nor have any pity. Utterly slay old and young men, maidens and little children and women; but do not come near anyone on whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the temple." ~Ezekiel 9:5‭-‬6

"For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?" ~I Peter 4:17

If we study the Scriptures, the pattern we see is that God's anger burns first and more times against His Church then He does (second) against an unbelieving world. We are called to be imitators of God (Ephesians 5:1) and imitators of the early apostles who were inspired by the Holy Spirit and followed Christ closely (1 Corinthians 4:16, 11:1). We do not find Jesus preaching, "Repent, for the gates of hell are at hand." Neither do we see the apostles tearing down idols with their bare hands and going out of their way to be offensive to the Greeks. They knew that the kingdom of heaven and it's war is not against flesh and blood. (Ephesians 6:10-12)
Rather, because they were imitating Christ's ministry, they appealed to lost men of their Creator and His desire that they come to know Him. The noun "hell" did not permeate their vocabulary nor did they try and coerce men with fear but rather draw them with hope.

"But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them, who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” ~Acts 14:14‭-‬17

"Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’ Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” ~Acts 17:22‭-‬31

Yes, hell is real; it is part of the Gospel and Word of God. Yet how we portray that Gospel could be a very contradiction to that Gospel. Just think of the literal definition of the word "Gospel". It is Old English for "good news" (god-spel). How can it be good news to give a mostly ignorant and blind world hell rather than hope?
Parents who take out their anger against their child's sin do not understand the longsuffering and merciful heart of God in the midst of justice and order and thereby, though believing they are doing the will of God, are actually tarnishing His Name and character to children who don't know any better. Same it is with us followers of Christ and the responsibility God has committed to us to display His longsuffering and compassionate heart to a world that does not know their right hand from their left. (Jonah 4:9-11)
