People of God/Followers of Christ:
Now more than ever, our politicians (especially the legislation & justices) need our prayerful intercession and not our cynicism. If the "floods of ungodliness" were able to make David, God's anointed, afraid, (Psalm 18:3-6) how much more those who may desire to do justice and righteousness, yet may have no saving knowledge of our Savior?
They are being bombarded with bribes on the one hand and threats on the other. They need us to bear them up in the strength and anointing of the Spirit.
Let's be joining our brethren who have already been intereceding for them. Praise God that we have more with us than those against us and He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world (see 2 Kings 5:15-17 & 1 John 4:4) ; not because our Father is for any specific political party, yet we know He is for justice and righteousness and has called us to be ministers of such as well. (Micah 6:8)

"And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword." ~Exodus 17:11-13
"The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one." says the Lord ~Ezekiel 22:29-30
"For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ," ~Philippians 1:19

It wasn't a walk-in-the-park for Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of his nation. Though his cause was just and godly, he still encountered severe scehemes, mockery and resistance. His response every time, was to be courageous, bold for truth, and above all else, to humbly call on God for His Divine intervention of justice and merciful help.
We are in Nehemiah times again...

"Now it happened, when Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were beginning to be closed, that they became very angry, and all of them conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion. Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night.
...For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, “Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done.” Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands. "~Nehemiah 4:7-9 & 6:9
