I have yet to experience great trials.
Yet the small trials I have experienced so far in my short life, God has matured (and will continue to mature and reveal to) my eyes by His Spirit [Eph 6:17] to see past Pain and Disappointment's disguises in recognizing them as His merciful blessings.
Trials, great or small, are merciful blessings because they sanctify-purify and deliver us from the pride and despair of our self-sufficiency. They are appointed and necessary reminders of:
Our humanity in the light and hope of God's Divinity [His being all-knowing, all-powerful, all-present, all-righteous] < Isaiah 41:14, Psalm 103
Our frailty in the light and hope of His Sufficiency < Jeremiah 32:27, Psalm 73:26
&
Our dependence in the light and hope of His being independent and immovable by circumstances < Isaiah 43:1-3, Psalm 102:25-27 & 139:7-12

God is awesome to be sought after and treasured, and He is worthy to be praised; because He mercifully teaches and is faithfully patient with our weak understanding, limited strength, and constant stumblings. May He be pleased to be glorified in continuing to grow you and I in living out these powerful and comforting realities.
