MY HUMILIATION FOR HIS EXALTATION

"So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, “The voice of a god and not of a man!” Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died." ~Acts 12:21‭-‬23

"Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another." ~Isaiah 48:10‭-‬11

Not only are we to be passionate/zealous for the glory of God, but we are also to be passionate/zealous to be humbled before that Glory.

Our Fleah would mislead us to mistakenly think we deserve to be glorified in that same Glory. Only if God wills, shall we too share in His glory.
Until the Prince calls us higher, we are to remain in our place and not only be godly but also content, in seeing Him alone glorified. (1 Timothy 6:5-10) He will give and anoint us with the crown in His perfect timing and choosing (Revelation 2:10, 2 Timothy 4:8, Proverbs 4:7-9); we are not to lust like Satan did and attempt to seize it to lift up ourselves, one moment sooner. (Ezekiel 28:11-17 & Isaiah 14:12-15)

"Do not exalt yourself in the presence of the king, And do not stand in the place of the great; For it is better that he say to you, “Come up here,” Than that you should be put lower in the presence of the prince, Whom your eyes have seen." ~Proverbs 25:6-7

"But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ." ~Philippians 3:7‭-‬8

"And you, King Belshazzar, have lifted yourself up against the Lord of heaven. They have brought the vessels of His house before you, and you and your Lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them. And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, bronze and iron, wood and stone, which do not see or hear or know; and the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified." ~Daniel 5:23

“When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him;  and he who invited you and him come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place.  But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you.  For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” ~Luke 14:8‭-‬11
