It is interesting/revealing that God (through Paul; 2 Peter 1:20-21) doesn't just call us to be "fleeing" but to also be "pursuing" [1 Timothy 6:9-11 & 2 Timothy 2:12] ...to not only be "putting off" but also be "putting on". [Colossians 3:8-12]
We, as followers of God, are not only to be living lives that "avoid" sin but alsi "abound" in fruit and righteousness toward God and men. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." ~John 15:7-8 "This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men." ~Titus 3:8
