If it weren't for the sanctity of marriage, we would not have the wonderful friends of the present that we cherish nor the heroes of the past that we adore.
That is why marriage in both Biblical and practical terms...should never be considered as less than singleness.
Plus, it's the greatest imagery God has used in His Word (other than the image of a "Father toward his children) to communicate His relationship toward us. If God uses this consistently throughout His Word, then we ought to be following in His footsteps and speaking of the value and importance of this sacred institution as well.
